Can someone please give me feedback on my singing and guitar playing?
Hey Saurabh, thanks for the A2A!First of all, kudos for putting yourself out there, it takes a lot of guts to let go of that self-consciousness and showcase others what you can do!Now, regarding the singing, you really need to put in a lot of work IMO. You seem to be struggling with getting the notes right in a number of phrases, and I suspect this is not a hearing issue (I saw your Norwegian Wood video and your pitch is quite fine there) but rather because you are straining massively in the middle part of your range (i.e. A3-D4). The latter, to me, is due to both your breathing and a closed throat - you do not seem to have enough air to support your notes, while you are not opening your mouth enough to allow enough space to resonate your sound easily, which causes you to strain and affects your diction massively as well.Instead of telling you to ‘breathe from the diaphragm’ and ‘sing from the diaphragm, not the throat’, like what most people will do although to me that advise does not help at all if no one is illustrating you, I will instead recommend you to lay down on the ground or bed, take a book, put it your belly, and just breathe without allowing your shoulders and neck area to raise or get engaged. If only the book is moving, then you are breathing correctly, and now imagine that sensation when you are singing, this time managing the air to ensure that you do not run out of it to be able to sustain your phrases. When you do so, try imagining a subtle yawn (without actually yawning, or else the tone will sound unnatural) as well because this will help open up the back of your throat to not allow constriction when you sing, and it will also improve the clarity of your diction massively. With regards to the guitar playing, the rhythm needs to be a little bit more fluid just like in the original. At the same time, I notice that some of your chords are incorrect and do not seem to harmonise with your singing as well (particularly “They sliver while they pass…” - the chord in that line should be, if I am not mistaken, an Em7) - getting the right chords first is a must, because it does not matter how nice your voice sounds if your chords are wrong - you are going to sound out of tune to the listener even if you are singing the melody in the correct pitch. That is all I can say. Keep practicing man!
Is there a website where people are willing to give me feedback on my singing voice? If so, what is it?
Perhaps someone else will have a more accurate answer to this, as I don't know of something specifically tailored to your needs, but, if you want to get general feedback on your singing, I would begin by posting YouTube videos of your performances. If you have real talent (and probably even if you don’t) you will definitely get people to respond, even giving input and probably some advice as well. Too, posting videos is how Justin Bieber was discovered, I believe.
Feedback on singing please. Can my voice be improved?
https://youtu.be/JuxFGTa1bEc It sounds very awkward at points because I couldn’t nail the voice breaks lol. Did it in one take because I would only have the house to myself for another 10 minutes and I didn’t want anyone to hear me sing.
Can you give me feedback for this article written by me?
Talking heads. You have a scene where an unknown number of people, are talking in an unknown environment, about an unknown subject. I understand all the words in the scene, but without a context, they are meaningless. There is nothing in that that makes me want to read on, because I don’t know what the hell is going on. It doesn’t make me curious, it makes me annoyed and pissed off.Give a context. Make the characters real to me.
What's a good site to get feedback on my singing (that's not YouTube)?
You could try SoundCloud, but without marketing of some kind, it’s unlikely that you will get any significant exposure. The amount of time your upload would be marked new and interesting is limited.Regardless of the online location you choose, you should have a mechanical license if you are looking to get exposure of any kind, unless you are singing your own original music. For just basic feedback, SoundCloud should be fine.
How Is My Music? Unsigned artist trying to get feedback!?
I'm an unsigned artist trying to become a professional singer. These songs are kinda old because i made them in 08. How do I get constructive feedback on my YouTube channel?
I’ve just checked out your channel and this is what I feel. It’s great that you’re a writer just like me and the shocking coincidence of age cuz I started writing on the same age.You have potential at sharing your thoughts through the pen (not literally) but your channel isn’t exactly the best way to express that. If you are primarily gonna just give tips on writing, I’d suggest you get a good camera, learn editing or ask me out with it and done. :) Follow if you liked the answer :)
