I really try not to respond to things one here, but I had to say something because I was once a teenage mom. Instead of being negative towards her and saying negative things, be thankful that she is trying to get some help for her and her child. Yes, she should have used birth control to avoid getting pregnant, but she can take care of her baby and make it in life with giving her baby up for adoption. To the person that stated she should get a job because a baby is expensive, you should use spell check before you send a response. Don't judge or talk about others before working on yourselves. Be helpful and not harmful to others.
Do i qualify for food stamps? 18 years old, no children or disabilities. i live on my own?
I was wondering if i qualify for food stamps. I have tried applying online but the ones i found are mothers with children or something else that i don't pertain to. I'm 18 years old and I"m living on my own. Paying bills and food and whatever else i need for myself. No one supports me, and I don't have parents (anymore). I was taken under guardianship form an uncle so i was a ward of the court until i was 18. Now I'm on my own. My 2008 income was around 7500. From when i was 17 to until now(18) I read that if you make under 8,000 a year you may qualify for up to $300 a month. So i have NO children or disabilities. I jus't dont really make enough to support myself since i only have a part time job and can't find a full time one. The money i lack for rent and bills i use from my high school job savings. I'm also a part time student but my finances are paid for through a Grant. anyone who may have the same situation and would know more information, I'd appreciate any information. Thank you

Okay so im 16 and pregnant my mom works at dennys and i dont have a job neither does the dad. this was not planned. my mom gets food stamps and i was wondering if even though im living with her can i still possibly get food stamps for the baby? any comments or answers are welcome i do not discriminate. Yes, as a matter of fact, it should be easier for you to receive food stamps because it will be easier for them to verify your income. Our food stamp office verifies unemployment benefits via the same state system they use to determine food stamp eligibility. They are able to view work quarters and the date unemployment payouts begin. Income, or the lack of income, has to be verified as part of the food stamp application process. In our area, emergency food stamps can also be requested. Do a search to find out if there are any food banks (pantries) in your area. Once you are approved to receive food stamps, you automatically qualify for food bank distributions.
Can I get food stamps if I live with my parents and paying them rent in South Carolina?
If you are under 22 your parents will be drawn in your food stamps assistance group. You can still receive it as long as all 3 of you fall under the income standards. Now if you are over 22 just be sure you say you live with your parents but purchase and prepare separate from them. You will also need proof that you pay them rent as well. Hope this helps!

You are not single when it comes to food stamps and you are living with the father. You are a couple having a child. You are no different than my husband and myself. Is your boyfriend going to claim head of household for tax purposes when you live with him? Or is he not going to try and get that tax deduction? It doesn't work both ways. You are part of the household with him. You are having a child together. His income counts for food stamps. And you can always get a job as well. That is not unheard of. I worked until I was 32 weeks. Single means you do not share a bed with him and do not call him your boyfriend.
