What to do with extra microfiber cloth diaper inserts, creative ideas?

Well, make sure you wash them several times before using them for anything as they aren't really absorbent until you do this. The Fuzzibunz ones say on the package to wash them 5 times.

If your child is still in diapers but maybe has outgrown the pocket diapers, you can use the inserts with prefolds to add extra absorbency for overnights.

I've personally used diaper inserts for cleaning (really pick up dust well, and don't leave streaks on glass).
I've also used them as general cloths for wiping baby's face and hands, wiping up small spills etc.
I've even tucked them under baby's chin when giving her a bottle when all the bibs were in the laundry.

There was a company awhile back taking old diaper inserts and receiving blankets to help clean up the oil spill, but I have no idea if they're still doing that.

If you're into crafts, you could use them as stuffing for stuffed animals, or as a backing for small quilted projects like pillows.

You could also donate them to Goodwill or give them to any cloth diapering moms you know, or put them up on Craigslist for cheap.

Hope I helped :)

How to clean a microfiber cloth?

They started as the fabled Miracle Cloths and became the everyday substitute for regular cloth rags. Microfiber cloths have worked their way into household tasks that rags, sponges or other cleaning utensils used to do. That's because microfiber cloths are light, easy to clean and reuse and good for attracting dirt and lint. The specially woven synthetic cloths will last a long time if you know how to take care of them.

Step 1-Separate any cloths that have been used with harsh cleaners or solvents, such as turpentine, and wash them separately.

Step 2-Prepare your wash water in a bucket. Add 1 tsp. or more of laundry soap per gallon of cold water and swish it to make suds.

Step 3-Pretreat stained cloths with stain remover, and let them sit for a while.

Step 4-Wash six to eight cloths at a time. Dunk and soak them for a bit. Then, wring the soapy water through them.

Step 5-Rinse the cloths thoroughly in cold, running water.

Step 6-Wash very dirty cloths separately. You may need to use warm or hot water and multiple soaks to get them clean.

Step 7-Hang microfiber cloths to air dry completely before putting them away.

Machine Wash a Load of Microfiber Cloths
Step 1-Create a separate load for heavily soiled cloths or those used with toxic cleaners or finishing products. Set these aside.

Step 2-Use stain remover on visible oil or grease spots and let treated items sit for a short period.

Step 3-Adjust the washing machine's water level to small, medium or large, covering the amount of microfiber cloths you are cleaning.

Step 4-Select a cold-water wash and normal or gentle cycle, depending on the weight of the load.

Step 5-Start the washing machine and add soap according to the package directions.

Step 6-Wash the extra-soiled load separately in warm or hot water, depending on the degree of the grime you see.

Step 7-Dry a whole load of cloths in the dryer on low, or hang them to air dry if you have the space.

Ostrich feather duster vs Microfibre duster?

Microfiber is 10x better at picking up dust. Feathers or the other things that they use for that type of duster really just flick the dust around and not get rid of it.

I agree that the Swiffer products are expensive. I use the microfiber cloths for dusting. They are washable and reusable. I get a bundle of 24 at Sam's Club for a bit over $10 and I use them for about everything! They work even better on dust if they are every so slightly damp.

Dusting with a Swiffer or a microfiber cloth is really better because you're actually trapping the dust and getting rid of it instead of just pushing it around.

Can you use microfiber as bedding for guinea pig?

I wouldnt take my chances with microfiber, But there's a great bedding thts inexpensive at walmart and it's called critter care. It is recycled and easy to clean and safe for your piggy, I use it for mine. As for reusable, if you have a trainable pig, you can either get a litter box for guineas from the pet store, or you can make one out of a plastic coffee container. Then buy guinea pig bedding at a pet store. Then place it in the spot where your guinea uses the bathroom most. Youll have to train them on this an it could take a few weeks, but if your looking for reusable it's worth it! I hope I helped you out! :) and if you chose to try the litter box good luck to u! And happy bedding hunting!! ) ;D

How can a person reduce their use of plastic microfiber in daily life and purchases?

Less plastic? By RE-using as much as you can. If you buy a reusable water bottle instead of buying bottles by the pack, you’re saving money and doing a good deed.If you commonly have to throw away the milk you buy because it goes bad before you can finish it, start freezing it and thawing as needed.Basically just think “How can I reuse this for other purposes” you don’t even have to be that creative with it. The common misconception is that going green is expensive and a hassle. But honestly it saves money, and I’ve never had any harsh inconveniences come with it. You don’t have to make trash art, you don’t have to melt it and mold it into other things, you don’t have to bury it. And if you can’t find any way to reuse it, then just recycle it. That’s a lot better than throwing it in the trash. Do these things and you’re going a long way.

Why does my microfiber towel smell so bad?

I have a plain white microfiber towel that I use to dry my hair. I've only had it for a couple weeks, and it reeks. Like the smell of mildew-y towel is noticeable from across the room. I wash all my towels every time I do laundry, which is about every 1.5-2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have to wash them in cool water with all my other clothes because I'm a college student and paying $2.50 per load so it's not practical to separate my laundry into colors, darks, lights, towels/sheets, etc.
I usually squeeze all the water out of my hair before wrapping it in the towel, and then I usually sit with it on my head for about 10-15 minutes while I get ready for the day. Once I take it off, I hang it up on an over-the-door hook and let it dry. It always smells ok after it comes out of the washer, but as soon as I get it wet once the smell is back. Why does it smell so bad and what can I do to get rid of the smell?

What is a lint free cloth?

Yes, microfiber cloths are lint free, also chamois leather is lint free. Most cloths, like toweling, or yellow dusters leave behind a lint residue that smears whatever you're cleaning. I'm quite sure that the cloths that came with your macbook are perfect for the job.
