Does the 30 day squat challenge work?

I'm fifteen and I've lost over 45 lbs. and gained tons of muscle in the matter of a year. Let me tell you something I've learned, the most common misconception is that you can target fat loss in a certain area of the body. This is false. You cannot do this and in order for you to get rid of that stubborn belly fat you have that you're not happy with, you need to go on a diet and lose it just as if you were losing regular body fat. Remember weight loss & fat loss are two different things.

Weight loss = muscle, water, & fat
Fat loss = fat

If you do do this challenge though, you will gain muscle and muscle has a higher metabolic need for calories than fat so you will burn off the fat more easily once you gain muscle. Not only that but your butt will be looking better too. ;) On the plus side, it will tone your quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves with ease. If you put weight on your back when you squat it'll be even better. Get a gym membership or something, start weight lifting if you want that fat to go away. Don't worry you will NOT become bulky like a man if you weight lift, it is extremely hard for women to since they don't have nearly enough testosterone as a male would. Good luck. <3

Started doing squats, but I'm really skinny?

The 30 day squat challenge will tone up your legs and butt there is no doubt ... But you will most likely loose a little in yours legs so if that isn't what you're wanting ... Maybe you should consider squatting with a small amount of weight ... This will help you tone you legs and butt while giving you some more leg muscle

Can I do squats and cleans on the same day?

Ok I started my own strength training program to get stronger, quicker, and more explosive for football and basketball next year. I'm currently doing squats on tuesdays as well as leg curls on Tuesdays for my hamstrings. I also do lunges and deadlifts on fridays. However, I want to incorporate some cleans into my routine cause I'm trying to increase my speed and vert. Is it ok if I switch out the leg curls with cleans? If i do so would I create a hamstring - quad imbalance? Also is it even wise to do squats and cleans on the same day?

Will my butt get smaller if I do squats?

First off you should consider yourself very lucky to have a big butt like yours. Most girls will do squats all their life and will never get a big booty. Second, the squats will only replace the fat in your but with muscle. If you are all fat in your butt now it is a good idea to do squats, cause if you really are all fat in your butt then it will stay the same size (maybe get a little bigger) but it will even out the fat with the muscle and make your butt look more toned (guys will love this, trust me im one of them).

If you only do them for 30 days then not much will happen. It will take months of squats to actually build bigger but muscles. So in 30 days you will probably just lose a little fat (guys should love this too, bigger isn't always better, its about the shape and the size).

Do squats really work?

so i have a fast metabolism or whatever and i eat a LOT, but never gain any weight. im super thin and my whole family has big butts, so why not me?? i tried the 30 day squat challenge and i had little to no results, and i know im not doing the squats wrong because i had an expirienced gym person thing tell me i was doing them right so wtf? why do i have no ***..
