How to inset a cat tampon?

ok, i am watching my gf's fleabag cat and apparently it hasn't been spayed and its that time of the month or something, so i call the vet for advice and they told me to use a "kitty pad" and to bring it in to get spayed whenever i can. Walmart didnt know what a kittypad was and so i got the smallest tampon i could find and tried to use it, but the damn cat keeps scratching me and wont let me put it in. What am i supposed to do? the cat is running everywhere and i have white carpet! HELP

Why do some insects sometimes stay still in one location for hours or even days?

If an insect stays still in one location for hours or even days it is most likely a stage in its development. For instance a larval German cockroach has a 4th stage larva that lasts about 5 days. If is was fed well in the prior stage it only needs 4 hours of activity and eating in day 1 to stimulate the molting process to get it to the 5th stage. So, it could be still for 4 days with perhaps an occasional break to drink some water. If food were harder to get it might take more eating time compared to resting time but in general it needs only move around to get sufficient food and water to get it to the next stage. Some insect stages are almost totally quiescent such as the pupal stage of butterflies and moths or beetles. They are quiet for days or months if they are overwintering. Though quiet on the outside their entire tissue system is being remodeled inside from being a larva to being a winged adult. Do not be fooled by their being quiet, a lot is happening on the inside.

Mild revenge on a roommate using insects?

Hey guys, I'm moving out of an apartment due to trouble from a roommate. There were a number of factors at play but I'll mention the major ones. This girl cooks extremely stinky food all the time and gets mad when I ask her to turn on the stove fan, since apparently it's "too loud". (But she doesn't mind when the extremely loud trains go by outside, which by the way she never told me about before I moved in, but that's another story.) So my tiny room with terrible air circulation fills up with the smell and there's no way to get rid of it.

On top of that, she also keeps the same stinky food (cheese, onions, pickles, etc.) in the fridge but fails to put it in any kind of plastic wrap, tupperware etc. so the smell of it gets into my milk, fruit and cheese. Finally, the kicker is that she occasionally forgets to close the fridge after using it, sometimes all night, resulting in melted food in the freezer and warm food in the fridge. Most of the time it isn't for so long, so I don't notice that the food has gone unrefrigerated until I have to make an emergency trip to the washroom. Unfortunately I haven't been able to prove that it was her so I can't ask her to replace my spoiled food. She also barred me from getting a mini fridge since it would be "ugly".

So: this has really driven me crazy since I'm an engineering student and I literally do not have time for this kind of drama. I would go so far as to say that she's lowered my marks and well-being by wasting my time and causing me gastro-intestinal distress. I'd like to get a mild revenge on her: nothing impossible to deal with, but something that will waste her time as she has wasted mine. She has expressed distress at the idea of spiders getting into the apartment via the balcony. I'm also thinking about injecting something foul-tasting into her food.

Thanks for any suggestions. Please don't tell me to take the high road or quote religious texts, I believe in taking individual action rather than depending on the whimsy of the universe.

Why is my baby corn snake spending all it's time in its hiding spot?

i just purchased a normal amber morph cornsnake yesterday and she's been spending most of her time in her hiding spot. She is very active and very docile when i handle her but seems so still in her tank. I keep her in a 10 gallon tank with a wood chip bedding that has been heat treated. I have both the day bulb and the infared night bulb. I keep her tank about 80-90 during the day and 80-70 at night and i also mist her tank to give it humidity. She is about 2-3 months and 15 inches long. Please tell what i can do thank you

Can you get sick from eating a poke bowl after 24 hours if it was in the refrigerator?

If the pokē is properly refrigerated (that means stored at a temperature of 41 degrees F or lower), it will be safe to eat for a limited time.Leftover pokē bowls are problematic.Ideally, you should just make/take/buy enough so that it can be consumed in one sitting.Yes, I know that life is rarely ideal. The fish in pokē in goes downhill very quickly. On the day after, you’ll probably still be okay. By the second and third day, the fish will start to taste progressively ‘slimey’. This translates to both the flavor and the texture no longer being optimal. However, don’t mistake ‘slimey’ with being unsafe to eat. By the fourth of fifth day, I’d say you’re entering unsafe territory. As always, let your nose and tastebuds be your guides. If it tastes or smells “off,” toss it into the trash. No good can come of eating bacteria infested food. One final point I’d like to make on quality. Rice and refrigeration are enemies. Ideally, the rice in pokē should either lukewarm or at room temperature. I would recommend separating the fish from the rice, nuking the rice for about 30 seconds, letting it cool for a while, then recombining the two before eating it.

Do you like cake pops?

1.) Never had any. I googled it and they look cute. :)

2.) I've openly and willingly had chocolate covered insects (crickets to be exact) Their are many edible insects out there and they are actually delicious. I've had them twice in my life from my local candy shop. Some insects in their dried form are said to have twice the protein of raw meat. So this is actually healthier then eating normal chocolate, especially if they are coated in dark chocolate. (Don't knock it until you try it) I know it seems gross but eating dried insects adds to a nutrient rich diet, and when you really look at it; humans eat all types of animals.
