Cannot Get On Website

Can't get on Facebook website!?

I've seen it happen many times in the past to various people (myself included). It's usually a timeout while trying to connect the Facebook Servers (website). Sometimes Facebook may be trying to fix an internal issue, or their might be a sync issue with their servers. Glitches happen even to the biggest of sites.

It's not an issue with your internet nor computer, because if you can get to other sites then it's a localized issue and not a connection issue.

What you may want to look into if you're using a public computer (like at work, school, or a Library), is to see if they have Facebook blocked.

Why can't I get access to any porn website?

I used to browse porn websites with my home computer or my iPod. But now I can't get access to any porn websites, pornhub etc. I have wifi al my house and it's very strong, i can access almost every other websites. Also, I have my own browser and I clear the history every time I browse porn websites. It's so strange:/ how to fix this problem???
Thanks:-)

I cannot access the YouTube site. I get this blocked website notification.?

Hello!
I had the same problem too. I can't access popular sites such as Google, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Hotmail and etc. I get a message saying, "Attention Required", then it says to unlock the site by completing a survey. All online surveys are fake and scams. When I'm on the page that says Attention Required, I right-click on the page and Inspect Element and seen a link to FileIce, and FileIce is website to download files by completing a scam survey that requires personal information.

A detection of Win32/PossibleHostsFileHijack is an indicator that your HOSTS file may have been modified by malicious or potentially unwanted software. Modifications to the HOSTS file can cause access to certain Internet domains to be redirected or denied. This may prevent the computer from connecting to certain websites.

To recover manually from Win32/PossibleHostsFileHijack, you can manually recreate a clean HOSTS file, or you can restore a version of the HOSTS file from a backup you made before the file was modified without your consent.

Here is how to fix it:
1. Clear all browsers history, cookies, cache and data from the beginning of time
2. Make sure you have no adware, freeware or a suspicious browser extension & add-on that you did not install
3. Run a full-computer security scan using your Anti-Virus or Internet Security software. I recommend AVG, Avira, Avast, Adaware, Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials and McAfee, clear all viruses
4. Go do a Disk Defragment. To do this go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragment
5. Now I've learned that the Attention Required message is a Windows Host File hijacking. Check your Hosts file in System32 (C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) open with Notepad with UAC (User Access Control) and see if it has a list of popular sites, if so you have the virus problem.

** Use Microsoft's FixIt program at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034 this program will restore your Hosts file to default and remove the Attention Require message.

Next time make sure you:
- Don't download pirated software
- Use trusted websites
- Don't use websites that requires you to do a survey to unlock something
- Check your Hosts file weekly for safety reasons

Why are some websites not opening on my phone, but are on my laptop connected to same network?

Hi the smartphone Internet browser is based on Chrome. If the Chrome browser in the PC cannot open a certain webpage, Android Chrome will behave the same. In the event that you cannot open certain websites on your smartphone, try these following steps based on official samsung publication:Make sure the Java Script is set to ON in your browser. Turn ON Java Script and access the page again. If the page is still not accessible, proceed to next step.Test the same page using the same Wi-Fi connection on a different device. If same problem occurs, there is a problem with the website. Some websites may have limited access. Otherwise, if the page works in Wi-Fi connection, proceed to next step.Try testing the same page using Chrome browser on a PC to isolate the problem. But if the page is still unaccessible using PC Chrome, there is a problem with the website.Check if your phone's browser settings has an option for "Request for Desktop version". If it does try enabling it to view the webpage.Note: If you are trying to view the website in an office or private network, make sure that the site is allowed on the network.

Why can't I access websites on my computer but I can access on my phone?

There's a small list of things causing this(I'm going to assume you're not on Linux due to the nature of the question. Not to be rude or anything):1.Firewalls, you may have some sort of firewall or filter that you don't know about, it could be coming from a firewall on your computer or directly from your router.2.network adapter on your computer. For a while I actually had a network card issue and needed to update drivers.3.your browser isn't happy with you, possibly needs an update or just isn't good. I suggest Firefox or chromium4.you got a vpn and don't know how to configure it. Simply put, you are going to your vpn but unable to connect anywhere else.5. Your phone is using a mobile connection while your computer is using wlan, and your WiFi is inactive for some reason.6. Your antivirus is blocking connections (firewall)There's probably other things that could cause it, but these are issues I've had in the past so I'm sharing with you. If you can find out which one it is for you, just lookup the solution.

I cannot get on a website titled http://www.mysvmpay.com help me what am I doing wrong?

I cannot get on www.slingo.com to a site where i play lucky stars for over 3 years?

The website was probably having problems at the moment you tried. Or your internet provider was having problems. It's working fine for me currently.

Give it another try.

Can't access Public Library website.?

This is the stupidest thing I can imagine. Of all the BILLIONS of websites on the world, the one I cannot get onto is the Toronto Public Library website at http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/. It doesn't contain porn, or illegal downloads, or instructions for making bombs. It's just the website for the local library system so I can browse what books they have, put some on hold, make changes to my account, etc., etc. But I have two home computers that can't get on it. I know it has something to do with my router because one of my computers has a wireless card and I got on to the neighbors network and could browse it then. I have the D-Link WBR-1310 router with the default settings. I thought maybe I could try Port Forwarding, but I don't know what port number to open. Any ideas how I can get on a perfectly legitimate website?
