Why "Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter" connection disconnects in Windows 8.1?
I've installed a clean version on Windows 8.1 (including update 1) in my Sony VAIO VPCF231LE/B notebook. Since I've installed this OS, my Wireless connection in notebook disconnects every after few minutes. To fix this problem, I did the following but couldn't help any of them: 1. I updated Windows (OS) 2. I updated Wireless driver to Qualcomm Atheros Communications Inc. Tuesday, 25-Mar-2014, v.10.0.0.287. 3. I updated the firmware of my Access Point. 4. I flushed DNS & reset using bowers MiniToolBox application 5. I set Power to Maximum of the driver in Power Setting 6. I scanned my PC for viruses but it was clean. 7. I enabled Multiple SSID of Access Point and got connected with the 2nd SSID but couldn't help. 8. I did changed the encryption type and channel in my Access Point but didn't help. 9. I thought that Access Point might gets down so I checked the Internet in my mobile at the time when notebook connection gets down but it was working. My mobile is also connected with the same Access Point working. I did everything I knew but none of them did work for me. I have installed the latest version of Wireless Driver. So can anyone please tell me what is the reason and what makes it disconnected every time? Thanks,
I accidentally deleted my wifi driver?
It was Atheros Qualcomm wifi driver is what I remember and now I can't make wireless connection to my router so now i'm on an ethernet cable but this really suck and I need this fixed asap. All the sites that claim they install up to date wifi drivers were not helpful at all and want to coerce me into buying something. All I want is to get that stupid driver back. When I did a system repair it didn't work because of an anti virus program>?
Computer wifi problems. qualcomm atheros 9285?
For a few months my wifi would just drop for no reason and no its about 5 times every 8-10 minutes. I sit right next to my wifi box so the signal is 5. Ive tried everything as in running admin sfc /scannow. updating every driver, i even reverted my computer to brand new and it still doesnt work. Is my network adapter bad?

Ok then follow these steps:-check whether if you can connect to your wifi with your smatphone or other laptop if NO then stop there and restart your wifi modem, if YES then there must be issue with laptop.Now restart your laptop and try again if the problem is still there then just go to control panel and open device manager. Or you can press windows + r and type cmd or cmd.exe and click/tap ok to ipen command promt . Now type devmgmt.msc in command prompt and hit enter you will see device manager window.In the list you will see various drivers that run your hardware i that list click on network adapters and you will see your wireless (wifi) driver then name could qualcomm/gigabyte/intel 802.11 wifi adpater.Now right on your wifi adapter and click on disable wair for a min and again right click on it to enable it. And now try to connect to your wifi.If still facing problem then again go to your wifi adpater ,right click and click on uninstall also there will be box saying to delete the driver check on that and just restart your laptopTry these steps and contact me if still there is problem…
