Cash Money Records Vs. No Limit Records

Is No Limit Records to blame for the current state of Rap music?

I totally and completely agree with you 100%. I've been saying that for years. Before Master P and No Limit came onto the scene, there was something out there for everybody. You could turn on the TV or the radio and hear conscious, gangsta, old-school, jazz-infused, comical and storytelling styles of rap back to back in one sitting. Then they eventually took over the mainstream. And I'm sure that when those corporate big wigs saw how much money they were making and how those kids were eating it up, they figured "Why mess with a good, money-making formula?" and started cranking out clones like hotcakes. The sad part is they're still doing it today.

But interestingly enough, even Master P himself is trying to reform the image he helped create. He even admitted his role in creating the current state of hip hop in the open letter he wrote in response to 50 Cent's comments about him at a recent news conference. He said, "I wrote the blueprint for this generation. The only difference is there's no more honor and respect in the game." He also said that he realizes that he "was once part of the problem," and now is only signing "profanity free" artists to his label.

So yeah, if anybody doesn't see that No Limit was the source of most of this mainstream mess they call "hip hop," then they probably weren't paying close enough attention.

Cash Money records Vs. No Limit records?

Which record lable is better? Why
Cash Money is better because they had better artests, better production, more albums, better style and flow, and they had Mannie Fresh.
BQ:Five favorite artests from both lables?
1. Mystikal
2. Juvenile.
3. B.G.
4. Lil Wayne
5. Mannie Fresh
BQ2: Mystikal Vs. Master P?
Mystikal
BQ3: Lil Wayne Vs. B.G.?
If it were back in the day, this would be much harder, but now I'd say B.G. because he didn't fall off like Wayne did.
BQ4: Hot Boys Vs. TRU?
Hot Boyz. Better artests. If TRU had Mystikal this would be harder.
BQ5: Big Tymers Vs. TRU?
Big Tymers easily. They had Mannie Fresh, and Baby was pretty good back in the day.

Death Row... Badboy....No limit or Cash money?

^
I agree, but 80%?! What about Sick Wid It, West Coast Mafia?! Bay Area had a plethora of talented gangsta rappers...

Death Row at it's pinnacle had a great roster... but obviously in-house disputes, media controversy and 2Pac's death effectively led to the label's steady decline...

Badboy were always less prolific in terms of artists - aside from The Notorious B.I.G., but they had a great run in the 90s... at the time Ma$e and co. were something fresh and fun for NY...
Ever since then Diddy's been scrambling trying to sign up-and-coming rappers but Shyne?! Black Rob?! The label's still relevant, but at this stage they're more of an R&B label than anything else...

No Limit records actually had some genuine talent - C-Murder, Fiend, Mac, Mia X, Mystikal, Steady Mobb'n, Young Bleed - and dropped some great albums... but Master P was just a hilarious CEO...
In the late 90s they literally must have signed a new artist every week and albums were released on an almost daily basis... great for fans - not good in terms of consistency... KLC & co. must have been sleep-deprived...

Cash Money to me were the polar opposite of No Limit - better production, but not enough artists... Juvenile, B.G. and Big Tymers made the label what it was... Turk and Lil' Wayne were always second-best... but Wayne has improved steadily throughout the years since the label's heyday...
Mid-late 90s they were one of the south's most promising labels - Chopper City In The Ghetto, 400 Degreez, Guerilla Warfare, 6th & Baronne... those albums put New Orleans on the map... and finished what No Limit started...

I'd rather not choose... but Death Row on it's day...

With the disappearance of physical media (records, cassettes, cds, etc), how are record companies making money?

It took the record companies relatively long to catch up with technology… They failed for a long time to recognize that by making it harder to purchase music than it is to download it illegally, many people would resort to the latter.By now these companies make pretty good money by selling downloadable music, or even streaming is very popular today for a set monthly fee. I use streaming most of the time, even on the go - in my car etc. Perfectly legal and with a huge variety of songs to choose from.

Is a money order deposited into a bank account considered as a cash deposit in the USA? If not, are there limits to the amount deposited?

As long as you are depositing at the financial institution they should accept a large money order to be deposited to your account. It might be hard to get a money order this large as most companies that issue money orders will not issue money orders in such large amounts in a single money order. However you could have a certified check which serves a similar purpose and that’s much more likely.Note that if you deposit $10,000 or more with a US institution then they are required to report this to the US Federal Government which could be used for tax collection, law enforcement or national security purposes. But generally not anything to worry about as long as your deposit is for legal and legitimate purposes.I’ll also comment that it’s common for there to be large deposits like this at a bank especially when it comes to real estate transactions.

Is all the money in the world finite and who's in charge of keeping the record?

Money is infinite. More can always be created. This doesn't mean that purchase power is constant or that all money will be accepted. But, there is no limit to the amount that can be created. In terms of tracking, most money 'things' are accounted for by the issuer as a liability and the holder as an asset. In the US for example, the government maintains balance sheets showing what is issued and the public either has physical currency or a record of digital currency.

Is there a maximum amount of money an inmate can have on their books in prison?

short answer from my phone…in Wisconsin, in the 80s 90s and early 2000s…no. there was no limit on your books.there was a limit on what you were allowed to spend tho. so it didnt matter how much spendable cash you had, you were limited on canteen and property.canteen, or store items… stuff you bought from the prison commissary was limited to… and correct me widoc guys. was 140.00 a month. it was like 25.00 first week then 35.00 second week. and the following 3rd and 4th weeks was 40.00 a week. so you planned your store items for food and hygiene items in the weeks of the month. and noone wants to be stinking or not washing.now its spendable property items…not really a hard limit on spending, just what you could buy and keep in a given time.cassettes, cant change them out. once you get em better like em for a year.TV. radio. once you have em gotta have like en for a year and they had to comply with rules.art supplies… at the time there was a limit. you could bend the rules a bit where I was.mostly to answer the question. no limit on account balance but a limit on what you spent.

What to do with cash inheritance?

My in-laws just passed and left us cash in a home safe. I mean A LOT OF CASH!! Can we just deposit this in the bank? Are their inheritance taxes on cash? Not only that, but we found out they owe some money. Are we responsible to pay these debts with this cash?

Recently rich and confused in Wisconsin

Suppose you have gathered approximately 1 Billion USD in cash from illegal means. What are your next steps to ensure your well-being?

So that’s 1 Billion USD? In $100 notes that’s 10,000,000 notes. Each note weighs about 1 gram, so that’s 10,000 kg of notes. Pretty much 10 tons in any language. Each bag will weigh about 100 lbs, sorry to cross to Imperial measures. That’s about 2 full sacks of potatoes in weight. That is assuming the money has indeed been converted. The situation could be smaller notes and maybe some coins. You look to retire with all this cash to turn into something else. Small movements in gold is worthwhile but you will be looking at transacting at less than 10oz at a deal.In a controlled state you would need a lot of transactions of any kind to get this volume of cash into any system, banking or otherwise. At a $5000 dollar cash limit that is 200,000 transactions or half of that if you feel lucky at $10000. Do you trust 20 people? If so, then that’s 10,000 transactions at the lower limit for each person. The likelihood is that you would need to mingle this cash into large overseas physical inter bank cash movements and hope the paperwork doesn’t show several pallets of cash disappearing. There is a real chance that something illegal would need to be done to get this moving. Maybe bulk it up and get it offshore and then invest in property via shell companies.Whichever way this works at least $100M would be a realistic price for the “intermediary fees”.
