Changes and continuities in Europe 1400-1650 on religion and economy?
During the latter part of the Middle Ages, Europe went through some difficult struggles with climatic conditions. These conditions caused food shortages which did not spread across the continent in a uniform pattern. People began to question the role of the Church of Rome in their lives. We often attribute the beginning of the Protestant Reformation to Martin Luther but there were others who preceded him - look for information on Jan Hus (spelling varies due to linguistic and alphabetic differences).
