Coil Replaced How Long For Cool Air

How long should it take to replace an ignition coil and one spark plug?

It depends on the year, make and model and if you can supply that information I can give you the labor times.............

You will not find anything on-line for labor rates but to give you an example that will include both the wire and one coil excluding diagnostic time ( 1.1 hour )........

When the air conditioner is cooling the air, does it blow air at the temperature set by the thermostat or does the AC always blow the exact same temperature cold air until the house reaches the temperature set on the thermostat?

Neither.  The second choice is closer to true, but is also incorrect. First, some assumptions.  For purposes of answering this question, we assume this is a typical central air conditioning system in a private home.  The air that comes out of your registers is cooled as it flows past a coil for a set amount of time at a set rate.  Because of this, when the air conditioning is first switched on in a hot house, the air entering the coil is hot, and the coil will reduce it's temperature by a finite amount.  So if we assume the incoming air is 90 degrees F and the coil can drop the temperature of that air by removing heat by 15 degrees, the outgoing "cool" air would be 75 degrees, the temperature coming out of your registers (assuming it doesn't regain heat between the coil and the register).  As the home cools, the air entering the coil drops (for our purposes of illustration, to 80 degrees F), resulting in a corresponding drop in the air leaving the registers (now at 65F).  The end result is the air in the home will eventually drop to the "set point", which is the selected temperature on the thermostat, at which point the thermostat will no longer be "calling" for cooling and the air conditioner will turn off until the temperature at the thermostat either raises or is set at a lower "set point".  If the house is at 90 and you set the stat at 60 or 89, the A/C should go on.  The difference is, if you set it at 60, it will not turn off until it reaches 60, and it will cycle off fairly quickly if set at 89.  Your A/C tech, if EPA certified as required in the US, will be able to explain it to you more thoroughly and dazzle you with dry bulbs and wet bulbs and ambient air and sling psychrometers and R-410A or R-22, variable speed or fixed, zones and hoses and gauges and will be able to determine that what you really should do is clean your coils and change your filter more often, and by the way that'll be $300.00, is that cash or charge?

How much would it cost for labor to replace the condenser coil on a Trane air conditioner?

Its a 3 hour job. 1500-1800. You also have to replace the drier as well and recover the old refrigerant and install new virgin refrigerant. If your old system is R-22 there was a massive increase in the cost of that. The system also needs to be check for acid. If the milk the job 5-6 hours. I could see 4 hour possible.

How long can I drive my car with bad coil packs?

It is not a question of how long you can do it. It is more a question if you should. The answer is you should not. You can drive the car until it breaks down completely (and it will). While doing so you will, as pointed out by other answers, run the risk of damaging the converter but you also run the risk of fire.If the coil is faulty very bad things can happen. Car fires are usually related to causes associated with fuel, and/or electrical. Once a fuel part starts leaking while a car is running, a fuel drip can be the formula for fire if you get sparks from a spark plug wire or an ignition coil that is faulty. Something like this could be the end result. (the image is from the web, I am just using it to illustrate a possible scenario, I do not know what happened with the beamer) But I have seen a Lancia catch fire from a faulty ignition coil. So, why risk it? Yes, they are not cheap, but you really should get a new one. By trying to "save" a few bucks you may end up having to spend a lot more.

Trying to find a replacement coil for my home HVAC Heat pump indoor air handler?

Nordyne B2BM036K-B is what is on the side of the 12 year old air handler. The AC technician said my coil has a large leak that he cannot repair and I need a new coil unit. I have not been able to Google any information on where I can purchase a replacement coil. Any help would be appreciated.

Air Conditioner not cooling. Too much or too little freon?

Goodman Manufactoring Company
Model CK24-18
Serial 9807510241
Compressor was replaced 2-3 years ago
Inside coils replaced 1-2 years ago
In all the years I've had the unit (since 1998), it has never cooled the house. House has double pane windows and 8 inches rockwool and 4 inches corning (pink rolls) on top.

Now it's "in the toilet". pipes outside were warm and dry. Temp outside was 98F and inside 85F and air in vent 78F. Next day, pipes outside are 1 1/2 inches of ice. Air still flowing across inside coils. Temp exactly the same. hvac guy comes out and charges with freon. Waited 3 hours. Temp outside 98F, inside 92F, air in vent 77F after running ac 2 hours. Pipes outside (big one) barely cool to touch, small line feel like "air temp".

In early spring, inside coils would ice over about once a week. Air would not flow over coils. Shut it off an hour then turn it on, works. Even then, outside 90, inside 80, in vent 75.

Can R22 coil be used with R410-A condensor?

R-410a operates in the same way R-22 does but it will be at higher pressures. R-22 systems are not designed to operate at the pressures R-410a displays. You will need to replace the indoor evaporator coil with one designed for the greater pressure.

New ac unit not cooling?

Our old unit was also a 5 ton unit. The new unit is a 14 SEERS unit and we replaced both coil and condensing unit. The old unit was a REEM and the new one is Carrier. Our furnace is still in good shape so we opted not to replace. Found water in the pan this morning after a sensor that had been place in the pan started to beep. There wasn't too much water, but still is that normal? Is it wrong of me to expect this newer unit to cool the same if not a little better than the old one?

Hvac; why is my air handler coil cold at bottom and not cold at top?

If you have a new system was it installed completely new or replacing an older unit? It sounds like there's a couple of possibilities. One is that you may have a restriction at the evaporator, which would most likely be at the orifice, cap tube, thermostatic expansion valve, or whatever device is being used. That can happen if the wrong rated device was installed, or if a good vacuum wasn't pulled on the system to remove any contaminants. That would most likely mean moisture in the system, which will freeze at the evaporator and cause the restriction. One way to tell would be to let the unit sit idle for awhile to let the internal ice melt. Start the unit and measure the supply air temperature, then measure again later to see if that temperature is getting warmer. The other possibility is that the condensing unit comes pre-charged with refrigerant from the factory and will generally handle a line run up to 20 feet. If you have a longer run of refrigerant line than that, then you might just be a little undercharged. There should be a temperature-pressure chart on the unit which will give you the correct refrigerant pressures for the indoor and outdoor temperatures that your unit is running under.
