Could I Get In Trouble For Having A Pellet Gun

Lead poisoning from a pellet gun?

It takes a lot of lead in your system to get lead poisoning. This is a cumulative effect as heavy metals such as lead do not leave your system quickly. With that being said just a little finger contact with the lead pellets is nothing to be overly concerned with. It would be prudent to try to avoid touching your eyes, mouth, etc as much as possible until you thoroughly wash your hands, however the amount that would get into your system from that even is quite minute. Vapors are much more dangerous than simply touching lead. Anyone who does much shooting contacts lead fairly regularly and has no problems. There are plenty of people who cast their own bullets in great quantities that have their blood tested for lead annually who have no problems as long as simple precautions are taken, such as fans for ventilation.

So in short I wouldn't worry about lead poisoning from shooting your pellet gun, although a little caution about the lead won't hurt anything, so go out do some shooting and have fun!

Can I get in trouble with the law for shooting an air soft gun in my backyard?

Possibly, but if you take all recommended safety precautions it should be ok in most places. If you're concerned, call your sheriff and ask. In my town there's no requirement for an airsoft shooting range, but for air rifles and other bb guns, you must simply have an appropriate backstop capable of stopping errant shots.Airsoft guns do have significant power and can cause injury, but I shoot them in the house and in the yard.

Is it legal to bring a pellet or bb gun into Mexico?

Don’t even THINK about bringing anything even remotely resembling a firearm into Mexico.Even if it’s “only” a pellet or BB gun, since most pellets are .177 caliber, not far from a .22 caliber, it can easily be construed to be a small caliber firearm and that can get you arrested and jailed until they get around to figuring out it’s not a lethal weapon in the strict sense of the word.Whether that takes an hour or three weeks is entirely up to the arresting authority. You have no “rights” in Mexico as a foreigner. What I’m trying to tell you, is it’s just not worth it, unless there is a compelling reason to do it. That might be a pellet or BB gun shooting tournament or other sporting event, in which case you need to secure the proper permissions and paperwork from the Mexican authorities, but otherwise, I’d leave the hardware at home.

Using bb/pellet gun to scare deer out of yard?

hello. i need some of your thoughts about me using my $30.00 bb/ pellet gun to scare the deer out of my yard. i live in a subdivision where most houses are around 200 to 300 feet away and its basically a forested area. since iam only scaring them away by shooting a bb at them, what kind of trouble could i get in if someone thinks i am shooting them with a real gun? we have spent a lot of money on landscaping and there is no way those deer will have more rights than me or any other person.

Can a fired pellet be traced back to the gun it was fired from?

Pellets do not melt after being shot. There is virtually no heat buildup in a pellet gun. And unless the pellet hits something very hard, it likely won't even be deformed let alone break. But, there is no way to trace a pellet to a particular gun either. The way bullets are traced is due to the rifling grooves within the barrel of the gun which fired it. When the bullet passes through the barrel, the rifling grooves cause the bullet to spin, which increases stability and accuracy. These groove "scar" the bullet. Rifling grooves are fairly unique to each barrel, somewhat akin to fingerprints. As such, the markings on a fired bullet can be matched to a particular barrel. However, pellet guns aren't rifled--no grooves, no marks, nothing to match. Same thing with shotguns and smoothbore muzzle-loaded firearms.

Should I buy my 15 year old son a pellet gun?

My son has asked for a pellet gun. He is 15 almost 16. His grades are not the best and I all ready told him his grades had to come up. Inside Las Vegas city, you can't shoot any type of gun. it's against the law. I told him he needed to take hunter safety first and then we'd talk about a gun. He stormed off screaming that I never buy him what he wants and now I look like the bad guy. please help me deal with this teenage billy the kid.

Could a pellet from a pellet gun cause a seroma on a dog?

A few things about the neighbor... He and his wife just moved in next door about a month ago, and he'd only been here a few days when I heard him yelling at my dogs off his balcony one day because they were barking in our fenced in back yard. It wasn't early in the morning or late at night or anything, but he was yelling "SHUT THE **** UP!" at them. They had just gone outside to play for a little while, and sometimes they bark at squirrels in the trees. All he had to do was ask me to shut them up, and I would've brought them back inside.

Since that day, he hadn't spoken to me until yesterday, when he casually mentioned he'd seen a snake in his yard, and he couldn't get to his "pellet gun" fast enough to kill it. That's when it kind of struck me that he might've shot Alex (the dog) because he was barking in the yard. We have a 7ft privacy fence, and the only way to shoot the dog is to be above the fence, like on a deck... which they do have.
