Coydog With Webbed Feet

Why do labrador puppies have webbed feet?

Q: Why do labrador puppies have webbed feet? All dogs have webbed feet. It is just the “water breeds” that have a more pronounced webbing on their feet. Those water dog breeds have been bred specifically to have more webbing. The webbed toes of the Labrador Retriever make them excellent swimmers in theory. The webbing between their toes can also serve as a "snowshoe" in colder climates and keep snow from balling up between their toes—a condition that can be painful to other breeds with hair between the toes. Please note that not all Labs like swimming. I have known many Labs. Some loved it. Others did not.Examples pulled from here:The difference between a water breed and another non-water breed would be how far to the tip of the toe does the webbing extend.
