Crochet Vs Sew In. Which Is Done Faster

Is Tunisian crochet faster than regular crochet?

I think it is just different. Also a lot would depend on the stitch you were using as some regular crochet stitches work up very quickly. Rows of double trebles for instance would probably be quicker that the basic tunisian crochet stitch.

Although I have crocheted for years, I have also just recently taken up tunisian crochet and an really enjoying it. I think it is a different versatility. I remember an afghan my grandmother had that was made up of wide strips of tunisian crochet (she called it afghan crochet) Each strip had flowers done in cross stitch along it and was beautiful. So I am trying to recreate this.

Hope you are enjoying learning it.

Sweater making - Crochet or Knit? Which one is faster?

Is it faster to crochet a sweater or knit it?

I'm not looking for anything fancy. I'm looking for easiness and speed, whichever method that could result in a simple, easy sweater in a shortest time.

Knit or crochet a scarf? what's faster and better in your opinion?

Does anybody knit or crochet anymore? Is that old fashioned?

i use to knit and crochet when I was younger, but it is a sign of the times now when you feel as though this craft is losing its popularity. Our lives these days are so complicated and fast, its hard to keep up. Knit and crochet takes time, I just don't have it anymore. Also, its expensive to pay for the nice wools and yarns of yesteryear now. Its cheaper to just by a sweater or baby blanket at k-mart if you know what I mean. Back in the late 60's and early 70's it was an art to knit, crochet and macrame'..now it is just easier, faster and more convient to buy these things. Even sewing is expensive today, material back then was like 50 cents a yard, now it is five dollars a yard!!! A simple McCall''s pattern cost 35 cents or so now its like four dollars or so.Ok , to answer your question, No it is not "Old Fashion", it is a craft and a resource. It is your choice of hobby, there is nothing old fashion about that. tie-dying may be old fashion.....lol...not this craft. It is relaxing and self rewarding, go for it!

What is easier to learn - CrossStitch or Crochet?

I crochet, and have done so for a long, long time, both personally and professionally. I have always found crochet simple, but many don't. Cross stitch is definitely more popular than crochet, and for that reason, I am inclined to believe cross stitch is easier. I have tried cross stitch on many occasions, found it simpler in many ways, but too boring to continue with. It depends on what your interests are. I like challenges which is probably why I like crochet, so in a nutshell my opinion is, cross stitch is easier.
