Currently Trying The Masuda Method In Pokemon Y

Masuda method not working? (Pokemon x and y)?

I've been hatching larvitar for a shiny and I'm at 936 eggs and still no luck, I'm using a jap. Pupitar and my larvitar (holding everstone) am I doing anything wrong?

Can the masuda method work with its own offspring in Pokemon x & y.?

I wanna know if i breed a Pokemon from another country with a ditto from my game then use the offspring to breed with the main Pokemon that breeded with ditto if it can still breed a shiny Pokemon.

In pokemon y, does the masuda method work with a ditto from france and I use a US pokemon?

Masuda's Method works in that it boosts the chance of hatching a shiny Pokemon is one parent is native to the game you're playing (as in your OT, your Player ID, and your Secret ID) and a Pokemon from a foreign region (Japan, France, UK, etc etc).

Using two foreign Pokemon WILL NOT WORK. Only applies to one native and one foreign Pokemon. I'd also suggest getting a Native Ditto so you can breed foreign Pokemon, and use the French Ditto to breed native shiny Pokemon.

Saving and the Everstone with the Masuda Method?

Having a Japanese ditto does indeed increase the chance of hatching a shiny, but it's still only a chance. The Everstone won't hurt your chances either.

I managed to hatch a shiny Ralts with a regular Ditto holding a destiny knot and the Ralts holding an Everstone around my 6th egg or so. I was just really lucky. What I personally do is instead of putting a bunch of eggs in my boxes is I fill up my entire party with eggs, hatch them, and release them if they don't have the IV's I want. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Don't give up too quickly on that shiny. It can take days of vigorous breeding before one hatches as a shiny.

Using the Masuda method, what is your average amount of eggs it takes to get a shiny Pokemon?

Personal Answer:I’ve done it exactly once - Masuda without the Shiny charm - and got it after upwards of 1000 eggs. I stopped counting after 500, and it took about twice that playtime in total to finally get it.Totally worth it.Real Answer:Shorthanding this from Bulbapedia here. The base chance is 1/4096 for simply encountering a wild pokemon, and increased chances add some multiple of 1/4096 - in essence, it “tries” to roll a shiny additional times. Masuda method adds 5 tries (+5/4069), and a shiny charm adds another 2 tries (+2/4096). Since “average amount of tries” is just the inverse of the probability…Base4096/1 = 4096 eggsShiny Charm4096/3 = 1365 eggsMasuda4096/6 = 683 eggsMasuda+Shiny Charm4096/8 = 512 eggsTake the number for whichever case applies to you, then add about half of that number again when you remember RNG is a spiteful being that wishes nothing but grief upon you.If you don’t care about egg moves or stats, just SOS chain it, for your sanity. The chance only goes up to 1 in 1024 at max, but the rate at which pokemon “call for help” tends to be much faster than retrieving and hatching batches of eggs. Pick your poison, and good luck either way!

Will masuda method work with a Spanish Ditto?

As long as one of the pokemon used in breeding is foreign, the masuda method will work. If you live in Spain/Mexico, it's not going to work, but I'm pretty sure you live in America. Your ditto could even be American and the other parent could be foreign. That would work too, but foreign ditto is the easiest way because you can stick with one pokemon to masuda a whole bunch of different pokemon :3

Hope this helps :)

What are the best ways to shiny hunt Pokemon in US/UM?

A lot of other people beat me to explaining all the methods! But I’ll offer my two cents.Get the shiny charm first and foremost. Yeah completing the National Dex is a pain. Hey at least it’s just 400-something pokemon and not 800 (though I do thrive on a challenge…)That shiny charm will reduce your odds in whatever method you choose (except wormhole hunting, unless you’re shiny hunting legendary/ultra beast)Wild Encounter: 1 in 4096 -> 1 in 1365Masuda Breeding: 1 in 683 -> 1 in 512SOS Chain (#70–254): 1 in 1024 -> 1 in 683Just remember that it’s all luck. Even the shiny charm doesn’t guarantee a shiny. The method you use is all dependent on you.If you’ve got time, you could get a counter on your phone and count the SOS chains. Some people are willing to go right for wild encounters if they so wish.Strained on time? Go for masuda breeding. Pop the desired pokemon in the daycare, get a box or two full of eggs and plop them into pokepegalo (preferably with islands upgraded max). You can just check in every so often to see if you’re lucky with the batch. Some like to shiny hunt legendaries with soft resets. It takes awhile, even with the reduced odds, but if you’ve got the time and patience, go for it.Other people do mention the wormhole hunting trick. Note that shiny charm does not affect the rate of shiny encounters and the ways of boosting encounters for shinies are…tricky. My tips are to use solgaleo (no wings to block the view), make sure you set it OFF of gyro/tilting and get in a ton of practice playing the mini game.
