Damaged Nose Due To Flue And Constant Blowing

Why do noses itch during a cold?

Dehydration causes itching not only in the nose and whether you have cold or not.  Histamine plays a major role especially since it's the body's main response to generalized dehydration. If you want to avoid the distressing itch every time you get a cold, try drinking at least two glasses of water followed by a pinch of rock table salt placed on the tongue every two hours until your symptoms subside. Avoid using antihistamines because it worsens the condition.  You'll find out that sufficient water intake can easily rid you of the itchy nose you're experiencing.  This also applies if you're suffering from allergies, asthma, etc.  I can guarantee this because I found out how this works many years ago and, now, I no longer experience cold and other related conditions.  So drink up and good luck!  Important note: By water I don't mean fruit juices, soups, alcohol, and worst of all, coffee!  I mean water. Simply, clean fresh water. It works all the time!

Is it true that if you blow your nose often, it will cause nose/mouth cancer?

Virchow's "irritation theory" was just that . . a theory and not a 'cause'. The problem with his theory is that only a very few 'cases' may or may not be linked to the theory . . in other words if cancer of the mouth/nose was 'caused' by irritation than everyone who blew their nose would be getting cancer . . but they don't . . why. It's just not a good enough 'theory'.

No scientific documented evidence exists in today's world that blowing your nose often will 'cause' nose/mouth. cancer.

Tinnitus in ears doc says not to blow my nose, but I can't stop?

Hi,
I have had ringing in my ears for about 7 months. I had a hearing test which was fine. Then the doctor told me it could be a build up of mucus in my (inner?) ear and that I need to inhale albas oil and not blow my nose.
The problem is I always wake up every morning with a blocked nose, but it's too blocked just to inhale albas oil - I need to blow! I do it really gently :)
Can someone explain why I'm so snotty for a start? And if blowing my nose gently is ok? I can't stand this ringing in my ears!
Thanks

Ever since I flew on a plane while sick, when I blow my nose relatively hard, my ear builds pressure. Should I be concerned?

No. You are, unintentionally, performing the valsalva manuver and equalizing the pressure inside your middle ears via your sinuses (which are connected via a thin tube.)Most presaurized aircraft are only pressurized to 8,000ft, so you are simpmy adapting to the change in pressure.

Will my septum piercing get infected? (i have the flu)?

I got my septum pierced a week ago today, it hardly hurt, and i love it :) I have been cleaning it multiple times per day with saline solution and wasn't having any problems until today. Today I woke up with the flu and have had to blow my nose constantly ever since. It is very painful and difficult to blow my nose since the piercing is so new and still healing. I am just wondering if i should take it out or suck it up and hope for the best? i am afraid it may get infected if i don't.

any suggestions?
