Differences Between The Pearl The Movie And The Book

Coraline book and movie diffrences?

Simple answer: the book is MUCH better than the film. It is far darker, far creepier, far more subtle and well-developed, far more nuanced than the film. It is richly textured and complex, the language is gorgeously descriptive, the point of view is so accurately a child's. It's a piece of genius, imho. The film is a pale echo, by comparison. Read the book! You won't be sorry!

What are the differences between the jurassic park movie and the book?

There are major differences between the books and movies. Its not as dramatic, for most part, with the first book. I don't think the movie has the death scene that the book has where the man dies after a Velociraptor attack. I don't remember the movie showing the Compys getting off the island. The children behave a little differently in the book. It goes more into Alan Grant not liking kids in the book. The motivation for Jurassic Park is not as obvious in the movie, and the cheerful grandfather in the movie is much more of a manipulative businessman in the book. Please note, the book is good, but more graphic.

Lost World, book two, and the movie are two different things. The movie is commercialized. Creighton's book is more reasonable to animals raised without adults to guide them. There are no super intelligent, possibly sentient, Velociraptors in book 2.

Movie 3 is an abomination in the series. I like the movie, but its not really based on the books.

Which is the difference between the book and the movie of the good earth?

If you are referring to the book written by Pearl Buck...

I have seen the movie and read the book. I didn't find too many discrepancies between the two as far as content. However, the book does go into more detail and explanations of the cultural norms than the movie.

What are some difference between te scarlet letter book and movie? I need help ASAP!! :)?

The beginning of the movie begins very differently from the book. The
movie opens with a discussion between the town’s magistrates and a local
indian tribe. Then we see Hester’s arrival from England. The book, however,
begins much later with Hester’s precession from prison. The movie is told
through the eyes of Pearl, while the book is tells the story in third person. Unlike
the novel, the movie shows how Hester Prynne and Reverend Dimmesdale
meet, fall in love, and their affair. In the movie, but not in the book, Mistress
Hibbins and Hester become friends. Later in the movie we see Hester’s
husband’s progress after being kidnapped by the indians. In the novel, we are
not introduced to Chillingworth until he arrives in the town.
In the middle of the film we see many similarities. Hester’s punishments
were the same. Reverend Dimmesdale punishes himself in both stories. The
mannerisms of the characters are the same. Chillingworth discovers who Pearl’s
father is and attempts to destroy him. Dimmesdale and Hester meet in the
woods to tell of their love for each other.
The film ends with another group of differences. There is a trial in the film
of Mistress Hibbins who is accused of being a witch. This does not occur in the
book. The movie ends with Hester and Dimmesdale run off together, while the
book does not.

What’s the difference between “The Shining” book and movie. Should the book get a new movie like “IT” did?

Hm. I love the book. And i love the movie that claims to be based off the book. But they are not related really. Except for placenames and redrum. So yes. I’d like to see a new adaptation. One as masterful as Kubricks (unlike the 1997 version) but more faithful to the book. That could be amazing. Please note that i didnt say “completely faithful” i don’t care if they leave out some of the particular scares etc. But i want to see a loving father with an alcohol addiction and a bit of the Shining slowly getting taken over by an evil hotel. Not a crazy guy deciding to finally off his family like the kubrick version.I would love that. Not sure how that one would work if it were updated the way they attempted to update IT though. Probably wouldn't fare at all well. People would be laughing at Danny or his mom for not just grabbing their cell phones and calling 911 when dad went off.And they would analyze why it wasnt all high tech. So… no. I dont want a new one like IT.

What is the difference between reading a book and watching a movie?

Different people having different personality would prefer one medium to the other. However the ones who shall answer your question shall be readers only.. People who love a book shall definitely watch the movie even if its to find out the flaws but people who loved the movie shall very rarely bother to read the book and thus only the readers shall tell you the difference. So these are the differences that I could summarise. Time to read vs time to watch the movieIn depth understanding of the characters and plot.Using your imagination.Detailing. The goof ups in books compared to movies are more because of the medium.Book reading is becoming a extinct habit nowadays and thats why reading is considered respectable.Budget constraint to make the movie vs to write a book. You can have a book about 1000 elephants but having them on the movie sets shall definitely be expensiveIn a book you'd even know a characters point of view which you wouldn't necessarily know while watching a movie. You fall in love with the soul of a character when you read but when you watch the movie their beauty captivates you.Visual appeal Nevertheless I'm thrilled at times when a movie is made out of a book. I have these wild ideas about how a character would look like, how would his voice sound like, etc. which I like to match with the characters in the movie. If I've read the book I've to see the movie but very rarely I'm inspired to read after watching the movie cause the I already know how the story shall progress so I can't blame the non book people.

What are some differences between the movie Coraline and the book?

~Her hair was blue in the movie~The ghost kids were entirely different~The Other Mother was a giant half-spider thing in the movie; in the book, she was merely spider-like.~Her parents’ jobs were different…I think~Her parents were different in their moods and personalities (her mother was happier in the book, and her father was more tired and less silly)~Mr. Bobinsky wasn't as oddThe overall plot was pretty much the same, though. I'd give you a more detailed explanation, but it's been a while.

What are the differences between the Divergent books and the film?

According to the recent trailers and advertising of the divergent movie, the makers seem to follow the story line and the book. but the major difference i feel is in the characters. I'm sure that the cast is wonderful but our expectations from the lead pair playing Tris and Tobias are high. The actors playing the lead are not that suited for their respective roles. In the book Tris is built delicately like a bird, small and gentle. Tobias is strong and handsome but lean. After watching the trailer one gets the feeling that the actor playing Tobias is strong but not lean and his voice is too muscular and thick to be of an 18 year old boy. The actress playing Tris has chubby, rosy cheeks whereas Tris has a pale and narrow face. That i feel is the major difference between the characters.

What are some differences between the "Outsiders" book and movie?

Okay, there's a couple of differences between the movie and the book.

In the movie, you actually see Dally robbing a grocery store, and you see that he is shot by the police even before he called for help at the Curtis' house.
--- The book just skips to Dally calling and the gang running to see Dally get killed.
*** I think they added this in the movie because it would give you a visual sense as to what happened to Dally and why he sounded so urgent on the phone. Because you never really know what he did in the book.

In the movie, they portray Ponyboy's dream.
--- In the book, the dream is never described nor detailed.
*** Again, visual sense. The movie isn't being narrated, so everything has to be shown somehow. They can't leave that out, so they make up the dream using bits and pieces of information from the book.

Then there's a bunch of little scenes that were just never put in the book, but created for the movie, such as:
--- The beginning of the movie, where Dally and Ponyboy are chasing the little kids playing cards. **It adds a bit of humor and portrays the characters for who they are.. Mostly Dally. Lol.

Right now, I can't think of anything else, but there's a lot more.
