Advantages and disadvantages of ambulance?

If by 'ambulance' you mean what is called an micu (mobile intensive care unit) then the advantages can be great. Live or die great. The micu gets knowledgeable medically trained personnel with drugs and medical equipment to you quickly. These people and the equipment can stabilize a medical condition and begin the work of saving a life.
The disadvantage is simple. They aren't miracle workers. They have to fight traffic to get to the sick or injured person. The people who dispatch them to come to you have to find out, sometimes from frantic, disoriented, confused, frightened, or just plain lost people where the person who needs help is. All of that can take time. Time the person in need does not have. That is why many people are pushing for all public places to have automatic defibrillators on hand for cardiac arrests. And why some doctors may suggest some people have them in their homes.
Of course there is also the more prosaic disadvantage... you got to pay for it.
