Do I Need To Be 18 Years Old To Work On Elance

How can a 17 year old work from home?

alot of the websites like ebay require you to be 18 before selling items. also the same applies for getting paid for data entry, online surveys etc, most wont pay if under 18.

http://working-from-home-ireland.blogspot.com/ contains info on surveys, data entry, ebay selling etc.

You could get someone 18 or older to open an ebay account on your behalf if you decided to start selling items.

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, but as you're only 17 you may be happy with the pay.

Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are applicable to us,canada, europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

How can a 17 to 18-year-old teenager make $4000 in the next 3-5 months?

When I was your age (about a decade ago,) I made more than that by being a Go-For at a construction plumbing company earning $15. It was hard work and I got about 20 hours of overtime every month too, which was time and a half ($22.5) per hour. For $4k in 3 months all you need is $8.34 per hour, with 40 hours per week, this is before taxes mind you. After taxes, you'll probably need around $10 per hour. Since you are underage, I assume you are still living with your parents and not helping with bills. You'll hit your goal easily if you got a full time job with min wage. Doubly so if you don't mind manual labor.EDIT: that is if you live in the States or Canada.

Would some freelancer accept someone under 18 to do the work for him and pay him some percentage from his revenue?

Why not? Age and even college degrees don't matter if you can prove your worth through your skills. However, as you can see there are certain age restrictions on these online freelance marketplaces. So if you want to work for a freelancer on Odesk or Elance, you'll have to contact them personally. Most individual freelancers rarely hire people because they can handle the work themselves but there are high level freelancers who may be willing to hire a newbie. You can find Freelancers & Contractors on Elance for different categories- Content Writing, Marketing & Sales, Finance, Virtual Assistant, IT & Programming and so on. Look for freelancers who have done lot of jobs or are currently working on multiple jobs.  Open their profile to check their job status, and also find their contact email or website. Then email  them a polite proposal with your CV attached. Do not pester them with too many emails- once is enough.  Keep sending such proposals to as many freelancers as you can and then wait for a response.  If someone is interested in hiring you they may first give you some trial work which you'll have to do for free or for a very low rate. If you get multiple offers, choose an interesting long-term job with reasonable pay  over high paying job that has no learning opportunity. Once you get the job, your focus should be to deliver high quality work. Try to exceed your client's expectations and regularly communicate with them. Don't be afraid to ask questions and if you screw up something do not hesitate to inform your clients. Try to finish your work within the assigned deadline and if you need an extension let the client know as soon as possible. Be friendly with your clients but act professionally on work related stuff.  How to win jobs on Elance: Tips for new Freelancers. If you don't have an online account or a bank account, you'll  have to set it up to receive payments. PayPal, Payoneer Mastercard, Skrill, Inernational Wire Transfers are some of the popular online money transfer and withdrawal methods.Final advice: Keep sending proposals even if you don't win any jobs in the first few weeks or months. Many people give up when their proposals get rejected. But sending more proposals increases your probability of getting hired- plus you will get good at writing proposals- which itself is a useful skill.

Is it really worth trying Elance and Freelancer.com? Is Elance really only good for people from countries that can work on a lower rate? How can I improve my chances of winning a bid?

Never ever go for freelancer .com. I’m a student who did web designing on freelancer .com in my free times. You can see it is the biggest market place and all. But it is the biggest scam. Please google for freelacer .com scams. You will find a lot of scams about freelancer .com. It is not the employers or the freelancers who does the scam. It is the platform. I’m writing this post because I was also cheated by freelancer .com today.About my experience:I was awarded 3 separate projects by a client from uk. I did the job and received payment for all the 3. It was 20GBP + 60GBP + 100GBP =180GBP. After about 30 minutes I requested for cash withdrawal to my bank account. When I looked to my transaction history, the freelancer has taken all this money back. When I contacted freelancer support, they told that the clients account was closed and they have taken my hard earned money according to the terms and conditions I accepted when registered on the platform.I’m a person who believes we should not tell something like this without proofs. I’m attaching my transaction details and the chat with freelancer support along with this post. Click on the image. You can read it easily.

Is There ANY Work at Home Jobs with ZERO Fees, No Scams, No Selling, And Start Immediately?

Different from MLM product promotion, there are many internet affiliate programs where you get a commission for sending people to a store site who make a purchase, without you having to make any up front investment. It can be a lower risk form of indirect selling. The safest way to get these affiliate prospects is to create magazine like content web sites that attract a lot of visitors who you can pre-sell on some product, such a site can also make money from selling ad space. Being a gifted writer can be a i help, you might look up articles on the Mommy Blogger business. The return on such a site is very slow, since it takes many months to develop any significant following.

I have not heard of making money from chatting (while dressed) there are virtual call center or virtual assistant jobs that might not be very long term, and often you are competing with 3rd world people who can work a lot cheaper.

There are countless work at home scams on the internet. This ABC TV expose from a few years ago shows how elaborate some of these scams are.
