Push the next button on the radio until you see the word reset then push the tune nob again. this will reset the oil timer on the car and change oil light should turn off.

How to reset computer system on chevy blazer?

What year is it? Pre-1996 vehicles have OBDI computer systems. 1996 and new vehicles have OBDII computer systems. OBDI systems are cleared after a certain number of starts, as are OBDII systems, but the code will remain and the check engine light will eventually come back on. Your best bet is to take it to a local parts store like Autozone. They will scan and reset your system for free.

'04 Chevy Trailblazer, need to reset Oil Change reminder light...?

...but my friend doesn't have an owner's manual. Anyone know off-hand how to do that? Is it a switch in the fuse box or maybe a combo of buttons inside?

Something in my Chevy Blazer is draining the battery each night. How do I figure out what it is?

place a test lamp in series with the negative cable...as you pull each fuse watch for test lamp bulb to go out. when light goes out you can identify circuit.

Why do you have to change a car's alternator when changing the battery?

Well, three possibilities here.One. You alternator failed, killing the battery. Replace the battery, test the alternator. You can't test an alternator with a failed battery. Start the car with the new battery, voltage should go up from 12.5ish to 13–14 volt range.Rev the engine slightly (2500–3000 rpm). Turn on all the electricals, lights, air conditioning, etc. If the voltage drops below 12.8 for more than a second, look at replacing the alternator. It should spring back to 13ish.Often alternators will have a modular regulator. Most parts shops can test and determine if the alternator itself is blown, or if it's just the regulator. The brushes may be gone, and are sometimes integral to the regulator. Either way, it's cheaper than a full alternator. If the alternator is bad — doesn't make voltage; or is weak — doesn't hold voltage: then fix or replace it with the battery.Check the feed cables and battery connections on the off chance they're bad. You should do this regardless.Two. This is a low probability. Your battery failed, killing the alternator. This can happen in the case I forget a dead short in one of the cells of the battery, or a near total loss of liquid in your battery. Either way the battery case will likely be distorted, or even cracked. It will have a voltage less than 9. It may even stink of rotten eggs, with a slight taste of chewing on foil.Three. Your mechanic is a liar and a thief who's trying to get more money out of your pocket and into his. If he says that you have to replace the alternator because the battery is bad, this is the case.

How do I reset the serive engine soon light in a 02 chevy impala?

If it's the Oil Life Monitor, all you need to do is turn the key ON (do not start the car) and press the gas pedal down three times within 5 seconds. You will get a confirmation chime and the oil life monitor light will flash and turn off. If it doesn't work, try it again.

The instructions for turning the oil life monitor light off are in the owner's manual. If you don't have a manual, go to www.mygmlink.com and sign up for an account... You will be able to access the owner's manual online for free.

Can cold weather kill a car battery?

Most car/truck batteries will/should have an open circuit voltage of 12.6 volts. If your battery discharges over a period of time, which can happen with a simple parasitic draw (such as a on board CPU) or possibly leaving a interior light on, this will cause the battery to discharge.

When a battery is fully charged it has a specific gravity of 1260 (this is the measurement of sulfuric acid) this measurement can be checked with a hydrometer, when the battery discharges the sulfuric acid goes through a chemical reaction and becomes more like water and would measure a specific gravity of 1000.

If water freezes at 32 degrees F and you battery was completely discharged, then it is fair to say that your battery froze solid like a ice cube.

Once this happens, the battery is 99% unrecoverable. Your trickel charger would be useless on the battery.

When you replace your battery, you should have your charging system checked out. This can be done at any Auto Parts store or a local Walmart free a charge.

In the future, if you plan to leave the vehicle longer than 4 weeks, you should disconnect the negitive cable from your battery. This will eleminate any paristic draw down.

How do I reset 02' Trailblazer ABS light?

Yesterday I replaced a front wheel hub assembly on my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. I connected the ABS wiring harness correctly but after the installation my ABS light was on.The brakes seem to be working fine and I tried leaving the battery disconnected for a while to reset it, but no luck.

Does anyone know if there would be some other ABS problem resulting from replacing my hub assembly? Or is there some other way to reset this light?
