Would deporting all Illegal immigrants save the US?
I laugh when I read stuff like this! First of all we simply don't have the ability to deport illegal immigrants en mass, and more even more importantly we do not have the political will to do so even if we had the ability to do so. The first politician the even jokes about this on TV will pretty much guarantee his political party a defeat at polls next election! So lets get real! As far as handing out welfare checks like candy to illegal Mexicans? I move to LA in 1996, and you know what I know and see a lot of illegal folks here, and they seem all be busting their butts trying to make a living at jobs I would personally not do, and at pay that I would laugh at! Just haven't seen the whole welfare thing yet? Not to mention the truth of matter is, our economy has fallen into a dependent cycle, we depend upon that cheap labor, right or wrong, but we do. And our own companies love it too! Corporate America slapped Bush even when he tried to threaten this cozy little relationship, remember the "guest worker" program, ya, killed real quick when businesses got pissed and called their congressmen, right before marching into the Oval office to set W straight too! If folks "really" are "only" interested in saving "money" discussing selective deportation (which is not going to happen anyway) is really a waste of time. Lets discuss foreign relations! Lets discuss adopting a non-interventionist foreign policy, allowing us to cut back our military presence through out the world. Sorry folks, this is where the "real" money is going, not to welfare checks! Darn! I guess the Truth really does hurt! LoL Got an idea for all those rabid anti-immigration folks...Put up Jim Gilchrist in the next Presidential election! Gilchrist & The Minute Men vs. OBAMA! Take back the reins of power to put and end to this scary immigration thing! Common, I'm sure it would be a landslide victory, for someone at least? (:
Why do the illegals that are protesting wave Mexican flags? Do they want BACK in Mexico?
If you noticed, there were less Mexican flags flying during these protests (even though there were MANY) because the organizers (la raza) were getting them to give them their Mexican flags, and giving them American flags to wave during the march. In other words, they were trying to hide what they are really all about. They didn't want all of America to see all those Mexican flags, because they know that there will be massive backlash, like there had been previously. These organizers are not stupid. They are spin wizards and they are going to try and dress this up to look harmless. If they hadn't interceded you would have seen nothing but Mexican flags, because that is where the hearts of these protesters truly lies - in Mexico. I say send them AND their flags back to Mexico! Adios!
Illegal Immigrants, should they go or should they stay?
Someone has recently said to me that we are all basically immigrants. First, to be an immigrant implies that you immigrated from another country. That may well have been true for most of our ancestors but we are Americans because we were born here or have acquired *legal* citizenship. Second, I am very proud that we have a country that "they" would risk life and limb to enter. That pride is based on the knowledge that we are a country with laws and a democrocy to uphold those laws and if "they" respected our country they would respect our laws and want to enter our country legally. Third, you are right when you say they are here whether we like it or not. Well I don't like it and that is what this debate is about, should or shouldn't we sent the illegals back where they came from and stiffen our immigration laws to discourage them from coming over illegally? Yes, I think we should on both counts. What's your opinion?

no ... the whole family should be deported if you are however in the country legally then it's cool

No but i sure hope i do & that it has the info. that i need to voice my home grown opinion. By the way with all the tecnology that we have you would think someone would come up with a survey to present to the reprisentitives of the people. Maybe they will remember what their job is.

I’m not a nationalist, whatever that is. I am an American citizen whose ancestors came of the Mayflpwer and participated in every war fought on Colonial and American soil. My ancestors include founding fathers who drafted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I believe in the rule of law.One of the precepts of the Constitution is that citizens have the right to vote. for their representatives. That isn’t debatable. It is a right guaranteed by law to people born here or who have become naturalized citizens. It is not a right of anyone else.Unless the Constitution is amended to take the vote away from citizens and/or given to anybody else, including illegals, that’s not going to change. This is a sovereign nation. I hope it stays that way for my children’s sake. Otherwise, hundreds of years of a shining beacon of freedom to the world will go the way of every other social experiment in world history.
