Do Multi Vitamins Make Your Hair Grow

What's the best multivitamin to take for hair growth?

Vitamin H or Biotin as they say for hair growth but we need not to take these via medicines. One already gets enough of vitamin H through regular food intakes as vegetables and fruits. The real problem is that the required nutrient never reaches the scalp. Various nutrients are supplied to respective organs via blood stream. Now as we know the blood is pumped throughout the human body at a specific pressure by the heart. The pressure is always more towards the lower body parts as compared to upper body parts especially head side as the pressure weakens while going upside due to the force of gravity. It is only the sleeping position when the scalp gets nutrition as the human body is in horizontal position and blood pressure is smooth and equal towards head side as well. But now days we sleep very few hours mostly coz of hectic life style and then we again take heavily stuffed pillows to raise our heads. We need not to take extra vitamin H but rather remove pillows while sleeping or possibly do Yoga with headstand like positions. Taking excessive Biotin won't be of any help to scalp hair but it will increase unwanted bodily hair on other parts. One should try to lye on flat surface while sleeping without pillows and get appropriate sleep.

Do multivitamins help with hair growth?

Yes. Hair isn't alive and it doesn't grow. Hair is an accumulation of a protein called keratin inside the follicle. As it builds up on the bottom it is pushed out the top, creating "hair growth". Eat a healthy, protein rich diet and take a regular multivitamin daily. Since hair is protein, eating foods rich in protein like peanut butter, eggs, and fish can help to accelerate growth. But, since everyone is different you may not ever actually see an increase in the growth rate.

Just in case someone else suggests this to you: Do not take prenatal vitamins, despite what some uneducated people here may say, taking too many vitamins can do serious damage to your organs, cause arthritis, and can even cause death. It isn't "just extra nutrients," it is deadly so don't believe it. I don’t mean to sound negative, but this is serious and I don't want to see people get hurt for long hair!

Do multivitamins really help grow hair?

Well, I know there are hair and nail vitamins. My advice is that if you are going to spend your money on them, make absolutely certain that you buy ones that actually work. I bought some in Santa Monica in the 1980s.  They were fabulous.  My hair grew fast and became very thick and shiny and soft.  I threw the bottle out.  I went back to the same store to get more and the clerk did not have a clue as to what I was talking about.  I went back several times to the  same store and they never had them again. I have tried numerous vitamins for hair and nails since then.  Not once have a found vitamins for hair and nails that really work.  I take them for months and months and nothing happens literally nothing.  I have asked thousands of colleagues about hair and nail vitamins and minerals and they give me names.  I buy them and nothing and I mean literally nothing happens.  I am sure they are not hurting me but they are definitely not doing one slight thing to my hair and nails.....not one. In fact, some manufacturers of hair and nail vitamins and minerals now state in their advertisements that if there is no change in hair and nails within 60 days, they will give you a complete refund and do not even ask for the product to be sent back.  What does that tell you!!!! Recently, I was in Santa Monica, CA.  I went to the store again hoping I would get lucky.  Nope no luck.  Whatever the formula was that was in that first brand I bought, I HAVE NOT found one that actually worked or even did what they said they would do.  That was 30 plus years ago. So, I take vits and mins because I know they are good for me.  None have ever done for my hair that first brand did for me.  I would say I have bought at least 15 different ones over the years from prohibitively expensive to very normal prices.  None of them did anything.  I tried Biotin, too.  That did not work for me either. I have had to find other ways to make my hair look fabulous.  My hair looks fabulous.

Can i make my hair grow an inch per month taking multi-vitamins with 300% of thiamin, ribothamin, and b12?

Hello - first of all there is a vitamin supplement called "Hair, Skin, and Nails" I have taken it before in the past, and to be honest with you, I am not sure the actual ingredients are all that different from taking a multi vitamin. It has a little bit of all the basics, so I would suggest getting a good MV and taking it regularly like 3 times a day.

Also, another good product you can take is Cod Liver Oil. I take it as a liquid, but also comes in soft gels too. CLO is good for so many health benefits, which includes the hair, skin and nails. At the moment, I have thick, strong, hair down to the edge of my back / butt, beautiful nails between 1/4th an inch to 1/2 an inch long, and very clean and clear skin. I am not saying all of this is directly related to taking these products, but my nails are longer and strong than they have every been.

Last of all, just to mention... nails tend to be stronger and break less if you shape them in a rounded rectangle at the tip.

Thanks for reading!

My hair doesn't grow, should I take hair and nail vitamins?

You can take hair and nail supplements in case of any dietary deficiency. Otherwise it will be more like no reason popping pills for you.For example: people who are either vegetarian or vegan generally suffer from anaemia because non vegetarian items are in general are greater source of iron, so in that case supplements might help otherwise maintain a distance from supplements.Vegetarians and vegans are at risk of having a deficiency of biotin and the most common indicators are hair loss and weak nails. So in that case taking supplements might be beneficiary. But non vegetarians get their fair share of both iron and biotin so taking supplements might not help to a great extent but an overdose of these might create other health issues. So be cautiousIt's not guaranteed that even after taking pills your hair will grow because there are so many considerations and factors that are involved in growth or health of your hair.Instead of popping these pills go for home remedies:Head massage with warm coconut/almond/hibiscus oil promotes hair growth.Make sure your diet contains all essential nutrients including protein, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, vitamin B12, B6, follic acid and biotin.Biotin is actually the key nutrient for preventing hair loss and, according to scientists; it promotes growth of strong nails and hair. A deficiency in biotin will lead to a dry scalp with the associated problems of dandruff, a flaky scalp and dull, brittle hair. Biotin can be found in most foods that are high in protein, such as meat, dairy products and vegetables. The recommended daily intake of biotin for adults is 300-5000mcg per day. Those looking to promote the growth of healthy hair and nails should take around 1000 mcg per day which will be sufficient to promote increased growth. But avoid overdose of any of these elements because it can trigger other health conditions in body.
