Do We Look Like Selfies Mirror Or An Actual Picture That Someone Took Of Me

Why do I look so different in pictures that someone else takes than in selfies and the mirror?

This has been bothering me for a long time now because I always end up looking really bad and not like myself in pictures that other people take but I look like myself (I think) in selfies and also the mirror.

Also, I was wondering if the fat around my face is baby fat or if it's just fat. I am turning 15 this September and I have always been a little bit insecure about the fat around my face and I want to know if it'll go away with time.

Thanks

Why do I look different on pictures than in the mirror?!?

When I take selfies or somebody takes pictures of me I think I look like a fat monster and Im being serious. I look like someone who hasnt slept in a month. But in the mirror I think I look average. Im not the prettiest person but I think there is a huge difference. Tell the truth and tell me that people see me as the fat tired monster D: !!!!! If not then tell me people see me as the average girl. Thanks for answers

Why do I look different in the mirror than in pictures?

You look pretty much the same in a mirror as you do in real life only reversed so your features are totally backwards so your brain registeres you as a very different person maybe. It has to do with a lot of factors like lighting in compairing a mirror with a photo. When your looking into a mirror the reflection has light bouncing off of it more than a photo does. Lots of cameras dont pick up images colors properly or at times the photo was just taken at a bad moment. How you look in the mirror also determines your self esteem level and how good your vision is.

Make sure your mirror isnt distorted or else the immage will be bent a lot and make you fat and skinny and round and concave in places you arent.

Why are selfie pictures mirror images, while rear camera images are not?

Thanks for A2A..12 answers for this question *omg* *wow*The selfie craze has taken over everyone from actors to prime minister of India and there's a good reason why you might obsess over it: It's in your head.Sometimes you're feeling at the top of your hair game and want to snap a picture. But the moment you take a look, you're taken aback and confused: Is that what you really look like? Well, that all has to do with the psychology of perception. We're used to seeing our reflection in the mirror, and our brains have trained us to recognize that image. But some photo apps and front cam flip that image and show your face the way others see it — and that can be disorienting.The primary purpose of the front-facing camera is to use it as a mirror or to make video calls with (so it makes sense to treat it as a mirror as it would be disorienting if it didn't). If you're actually taking pictures, 99.99% of the time you'll be using the rear facing camera.But if you take a picture with it, it does treat it like a normal camera (so the images flips).The strangeness of seeing your face flipped also comes from the fact that our faces are not perfectly symmetrical. In fact, if you take two halves of your face and replicate them, you can end up with very different versions.As Nikunj Bhatiya rightly explained this by giving the Abraham Lincolns image.Psychology of perceptionThat's all folks :)

Is it bad that i only take mirror selfies?

I have a back camera whenever I take regular pictures I look so ugly..my face looks so wide and my eyes look far apart..I look like a fat person when I'm very small and thin..so every picture I take and post online I take them in the mirror..is this bad? Or too much?

Why does my face look different in camera pictures and mirror?

so i had my pic taken yesterday at work, and i must say, i was shocked!!! i couldn't even recognize myself! i look like a total troll in the damn pic!

when i look in the mirror, i actually like my face, but in pics, i look totally different.
mirror = pretty
pics = horrendously ugly

why???

so now i'm curious, when ppl see me in real life, who r they actually seeing?

sorry, i know this seems like a stupid question but i'm really confused and sad right now, cuz i don't even know how i look like...

Which is more accurate--MIRROR or PICTURE?

wrong.

Pictures are more accurate. When you look in the mirror, lift up your left hand and what hand does your reflection lift up? the right hand. Reflections in the mirror are NOT how others see you, pictures are because they're flipped the right way and mirrors are flipped the different direction =] try it! Take your picture, use photo editing like paint or something, and say "Flip image" or something like that and you'll see the difference with the same image between a picture and a mirror...

Pictures are more accurate :)

Is the mirror an accurate depiction of what you look like?

I also wonder over the fact what is more accurate depiction of our real face……photo or mirror!First of all we will talk about characteristics of a photo:Image is not invertedImage is in 2d formLens distorts your featuresPeople just aren't habitual of looking their real version and love too see their inverted self which they are habitual ofLens make you gain 10 poundsAll of us aren't photogenicLight plays role while taking your perfect snapshotAngle!!!It is just a frozen moment while everything in reality is moving and isn't stationary but dynamicYour feature might not get really reflected through your pic or selfieSome skin color do alter in presence of light and gives different image then expectedFlash!!!!Mm and MP of the camera plus sensor!Distance from the cameraAnd seriously everyone hates their photographs for above and psychological reason…..we might look different from what we really thinkNow for mirror :image is invertedYou might look different in mirrors due to the error while makingThey show us in motion and 3d view of our self…But inverted selfRest is just an argument but to notify you those who think photo is more accurate then click a photo and flip it…..it still is little different then what mirror shows to us…..so it doesn't make sense(maybe due to lens distortion we look different in the snapshots)The mirror image is more accurate but inverted and that inversion makes a lot more difference then what we look like!And our eye is just the best lens to see the world we just see things with our eyes having power of accommodation that is we generally see a 3d with much more dynamics than in photo so it is pointless by seeing your photo and making conclusion that you look ugly……just keep in mind no one is ugly just some people are more attractive then you physically doesn't decrease your productive value…..but I guess inspire of inversion both mirror and photos are different in portraying our image and we look different in real life then any of them but for me inspire of inversion mirror is better then lens* sorry if I have an answer that you don't require but comparison between to is necessary to show the paralleled between the two!(Distortion by Lens)(Look the mirror images aren't much different just inverted that's how different you might look to others compared to mirror while lens distorts your features completely)
