What if I drove off from a Murphy USA without paying?
In my State, gassing up and driving off without paying will get your license revoked. In the circumstance you present, it looks like you have a case for a reasonable misunderstanding and that it was never your intent to defraud the gas station. Contact the credit card company first and see if they have records of the transaction but haven't mailed them to you yet, and if they don't know about it, then you could go back to the station and explain it to them, but since it is in another State, I would suggest calling or writing the station or the parent company and explaining what happened, and ask how you can settle up with them.
