this is SO annoying. i downloaded avast, malware bytes anti malware, anti spywayre or whatever just about a week ago, and i just got out of class tonight and got on my laptop and the stupid avast siren keeps going off saying ''bewww bewww bewww CAUTION: a virus has been detected'' then i have to keep deleting the file. it says its a trojan/worm. BUT okay first off, when my last laptop got a virus, it was the SAME type of virus i had mcaffee's free 30 day antivirus and the virus completely shut down my laptop i couldnt even turn it on into safe mode. but NOW nothing has been happening so far, but this stupid avast thing keeps going off saying that they have ''detected a virus'' ANY suggestions as to wth is going on?

This depends on how your laptop is set up. In Windows you can configure what closing the computer does - it may keep running or it may go into Standby mode. Take a look at the Power Options control panel to configure what it does. If your computer is set to go into Standby when the lid is closed, the virus scan will not keep running while it is closed. But if it stays on, then of course the virus scan and anything else your computer is doing will continue.
