Does Permernant Red Hair Dye Still Bleed

Permanent Red Hair Dye That Doesn't Bleed?

I've had a few experiences where I've had either red hair on top of blonde hair, or blonde hair on top of red hair. And every time I go to either swim, wash my hair, hot tub, or any water source; the bleeds and gets into my blonde, turning the red pink, and turning the blonde an even lighter pink. I've tried Affinage and Manic Panic. Does anyone know any brand of hair dye that will get me Bright Vibrant red hair that won't bleed into my blonde? Or ways to prevent it from happening? I've already tried color shield shampoos and they don't work on my hair. Please help ..

What red hair dye won't bleed?

When I got my hair colored red, I had the exact same problem. I used this shampoo which was recommended by my hairstylist: http://www.paulmitchell.com/Products/Pau...

The problem with the color red is, it doesn't bond naturally to your hair. When they make your hair blond, it's actually like a bleach to make it lighter, so there's nothing to wash out. That's why sometimes it's better to just lighten your hair rather than make it a strange color like blue or red, because if you use these colors they will bleed from your hair.

Color protection shampoo is a very gentle shampoo, that's all it really is. That's why they recommend it for your colored hair. However, even if you use color protection shampoo, the color will still come out of your hair, it will just come out at a slower pace. Use a black or dark colored towel so it won't become discolored after you dry your hair off.

Permanent hair dye still bleeding after 3 weeks?

Ok so I first dyed the under portion of my hair January 6th. It was a temperary color, momma's rules -.- it was a nice dark purple with a little bit of a reddish tone to it. It lasted until the end of March, when of started to really fade to this almost burnt orange color. Lol it didn't look that good. So I went back to get the same color just a little darker bit this time permanently done so it wouldn't fade as much. After 3 weeks the color is still bleeding ughhhh it's coming out faster then the temparary stuff. I paid like $60 to get the permanent done and the fact that it's coming out is making me angry. Any reason why this is happening or any suggestions what to do about it?

Do permanent box dyes bleed when you wash your hair?

I'm planning on dying the ends of my hair (sort of like an ombre) with an auburn red. The brands I'm considering are Revlon Colorsilk, L'Oreal Feria, L'Oreal Superior Preference, and maybe Garnier Nutrisse. I have naturally deep brown/black hair, and will bleach it to a lighter blonde/brown before I dye it. I'm not really concerned with fading, as I can easily dye it again. I'm more concerned with whether my damp hair will stain towels and pillows, as I shower at night and my hair is often still damp when I go to bed, and I'd rather not wake up with red pillowcases lol. So if anyone can help me with this or suggest good box brands that won't bleed if the brands I mentioned do, that would be great. Thanks!

Oh, the colored shampoo that the other person is talking about won't make that much difference. You can't make your hair a certain color by using a colored shampoo. If that were the case, the hairstylist would just recommend a coloring shampoo. It might do a little bit, but the color will still bleed from your hair, and the color of the shampoo might not even match the color of your dye so you have to be wary of making your hair an odd looking shade of red if you do use the coloring shampoo.

Whats a good hair dye that doesn't bleed?

my boyfriend wants his hair black and red... but from all my experiences with black hair dye its gets everywhere and will most likely get into the red.... does anyone know a good brand (that doesn't cost me a fortune) that doesn't bleed really bad? and please don't tell me to do all black then red cause that would fry his hair and is pretty much impossible

Hair dye bleeding?

oh wow, well um... go to a hairdresser! and ask them for some extra advice. how long ago did you dye it? because i just dyed my hair a blackish color too and it is still running a little. it is running because it is wet. stay away from the towels and let it air dry. try a different product. next time you dye your hair you might want to a professional (no offense lol) get revenge on your friend!! muaahahahaa. lol well how hard did your friend pull your hair out? that matters. it's just hair it'll grow back unless you're like 50 or something. try a shampoo that will make the dye last longer, that might help it not run. best of luck to ya mate =) omg and you dyed your hair fushia!!! hah! that's awsome

If red hair dye is bleeding is it safe for my scalp? Every time I sweat my hair dye bleeds. I had a scalp inflammation and it is worrying me that this could cause further damage like cancer.

Ok let me start off by saying I am in no way a medical professional so anything I might comment on is based on personal experience, & guidelines taught when going to school for hair, skin, etc… Ok so the color that’s bleeding I’m assuming is the leftover from last time it was colored red? So generally that is just a result of a small amount of color that when moisture comes in contact is seeping out. Red hair molecules are larger than any other color which is why red washes out faster than other shades. That part is normal. As long as it isn’t a thick red, but more a watered down tint then the dye shouldn’t really be much of a problem at this stage, but you should maybe do a thorough shampoo, & condition to be sure nothing active is present. Now the scalp issue. What we are taught is that it’s okay as long as the skin isn’t broken, & there’s no current maladies of the scalp. Since you’ve already colored it it shouldn’t be a problem with the rash, but try your best not to disturb the rash, be gentle so it may heal. I understand the fear of cancer as I have heard this concern from clients. Now again I’m only relating information I’ve been told , & I’m not a medical person in any way. What I was initially taught is that hair color is safe when used properly. The only color that has been considered a carcinogen to my knowledge is a specific ingredient only found in certain types of black hair color. I don’t know if this is factual, or if that risk still is even a concern, but at the time that is what we were taught in my school. If you feel your scalp has any open sores, or want peace of mind it may be a good idea to get a check up from your GP, but based on what you’ve told me It doesn’t sound like you need to worry much about it.

How do I know if I rinsed the semi-permanent hair dye out completely?

If the water is barely tinted the color after you’re done rinsing, you should be fine, even though there may be a tiny bit of dye left. However, if the water is substantially colored, keep rinsing! If your towel gets dye-colored when you’re drying your hair, it isn’t sufficiently rinsed.Use cool/cold water for rinsing, because it helps close the cuticle and keeps the dye from washing out right away.

How do I keep red hairdye from bleeding into blonde hair?

I've had red hair for almost a year now, but I just recently dyed some blonde into it, in a few hunks. I've done this before, and the red always bled into the blonde when I washed it, so the blonde turned pink. I covered my blonde in conditioner when I used to wash it, but that only worked half of the time. I use permanent red dye (L'oreal Feria Ruby Rush) so I'm not sure what else I could do.
