How do you make straight hair curly?
I have straight hair. Im a teen guy and Im a big fan of michael cera and evan peters and want wavy/curly hair like them! More like Michael Cera though. My hair isn't pin straight, it has somewhat of a wave to it, but it's still straight. If i cant make it curly will I at least be able to make it wavy like Evan Peters or Cillian Murphy? Will curl enhancing shampoos and conditioners work? Or any mousses? What will work?!? HELP!!!!

so i have curly hair, and i want beachy waves instead. i was wondering if a sea salt spray like sunsilk waves of envy would make my hair wavy & help with frizz? or would it just make my hair MORE curly and frizzy. also, my hair is pretty dry/frizzy, so would a sea salt spray make it even drier? i want those soft, frizz free beachy waves that you see everywhere in the summertime. not frizzy dry curls!

The quick answer…..stop brushing your hair, which is free and will result in the healthiest dreads possible.There are many methods available, some damage the hair, some not so much. You can leave it nature, have someone backcomb them or use the crochet method….although this is the most damaging way as poking a metal tool into hair is going to cause breakage. You will find people who will tell you straight hair won’t dread and that you need to use damaging methods and coat your hair in wax…this is a lie. After tons of research I chose to backcomb mine then leave them to nature, I have never used wax or any other product. It’s taken 5 years to get to this but I now have a head of beautiful dreads and I started with fine baby soft poker straight hair.

you can braid your hair, and braid your bangs too. or put in leave- in conditioner and scrunch it. if you have it wet then scrunch it and put in a braid it works great. Or you can put hair gel/ mousse/ anything like that to make it wavy. or you get salt water and a little bit of conditioner and spritz it through your hair- that works well. OR, if you have sea salt in your house. get a teaspoon of that, and boil water Once its boiled but it in a little spray thing, and put the sea salt. (making sure the waters still warm) and shake it. Spray through your hair, and just play with it. i realized i just kinda sounded dumb, but i had a lot of things on my mind to put down so i listed all them. haha, my hairs like yours. and it looks really pretty when i scrunch it then put it in a braid.
Can i use kosher salt in a hair salt spray to get waves?
of course. put one teaspoon of salt to one cup of warm water to melt a bit as it is thicker than real salt. add about 1 tablespoon of conditioner as well, shake well.
