Does Snakebite Piercings Hurt To Get

Do snake bite piercings hurt? What does it feel like?

A2A. Snake bites piercings are basically lip piercings on both sides of the lower lip placed in a symmetrical way. Pain-wise, it’s not that bad, unless you have unusually thick muscles around your mouth, any experienced piercer will stab through easily in the time you take a deep breathe in and out.The most you feel is when the needle bites into your skin and it may be slightly uncomfortable while the piercer manipulates the needle and prepares to thread the labret stud (standard starter jewelry for all lip piercings). Also, the second piercing, even if done in quick succession tends to hurt more because the rush of endorphin you get after the first is going down and your body is less prepared to ‘sedate’ itself against the pain.As to what it feels like, because the piercing is done fairly quickly and heals fast as well, I had them done twice, both sides at the same time each time. The first time, my piercer botched the placement and the rings (once I exchanged jewelry) fell almost flat over my lip impeding me closing my mouth completely and the whistling (and saliva expelling) annoyed me. The second time, with a different piercer, she got it right, but an old injury (I bit the right side of my lower lip when I was headbutted onto my chin years ago) surfaced and I had to remove the right ring. However, the left is still there and since I had a problem with dry lips and peeling the skin, the ring is serving as a shield against that bad habit. It feels quite nice to wear them and I will either get the right side re-done or put another one besides the left one (spider bites piercing) when I can.Another person answered about tongue piercings. Those are called venom bites, and I also wore them (and removed them due to unforeseen complications). They are done by piercing the tongue twice in quick succession and inserting the studs. It’s more uncomfortable than painful, though the two weeks after getting them are a bit hellish because your tongue swells to twice its size and the first few days the pain when eating (and talking) can be excruciating. However, once healed, they are worth it very much. Especially if you like performing oral sex.

Do Snakebite piercing hurt?

Well, I have a labret piercing, not snakebites, but it's kind of the same thing (one piercing in the middle of the lip instead of two on the sides). Have you ever gotten a non-ear piercing before? If you are nervous, do not be afraid to tell the piercer -- he/she will be more than happy to reassure you while they're getting everything ready to go. What happens is, they mark them with a purple marker. Then the piercer puts a clamp on the spot. Take a deep breath, and then blow it out when the needle goes through. Sounds silly, but it really does help. Then the jewelry is put through -- most likely you will get rings. They're usually easier with the healing process. It's going to hurt, but not as much as you think it will. Buy a bottle of Bactine and a travel thing of QTips and carry them with you to clean the piercings. If you've ever used Bactine on a cut, you're probably cringing, but it doesn't hurt on the piercings. It's kind of numbing. But the piercings are going to be tender for awhile, so you may have to be creative about eating. I had to cut sandwiches up into bite-size pieces in order to eat them. You may also have a little trouble with the piercings bumping against your teeth when you talk. They'll take a couple months to heal, but the tenderness is only in the beginning. If you're really concerned about the pain being too much for you, you can get them done one at a time (meaning, get one side done, let it heal, then get the other side done), but if you're anything like me, you'll feel better after the first one is done because you'll know what to expect for the second one.

Do Snake Bite Piercings Hurt?

They hurt more than a regular lip piercing, which is fairly painless. I barely felt mine. But my friend has the snake bites and she said they hurt more than her eyebrow and navel, but less than her industrial, which is also a double piercing. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. I know three people who have it done; one said it didn't hurt at all, one said it was about a 5 on the scale, and the other cried like a baby and bled pretty hard.

How bad does snake bite piercings hurt?

The piercing itself it somewhat tolerable and done and over with very quickly so you should be fine. Everyone is different, so its hard to say exactly how it will feel. To me, lip piercings are like a hard bite to the lip.

The part that does suck is that your lip is going to swell up for the next 3-10 days and the area will be generally sore. Just be sure you don't play with the piercings a lot, try your best not to bite on the jewelry or your lip and keep up with aftercare.

Would snake bite lip piercings work with braces???

You can have them, although your orthodontist will probalby pitch a fit about it.

Some people never have problems, but I did have one client that had braces, I pierced them and just a short time later she came in at opening with one of the flat backs on the labret stud hung between two of the brackets in her braces. I tried a few things to get it undone, but wouldn't budge. She had to go to her orthodontist and have one of the two brackets removed and put back on in order to free the labret stud. Hers became hung in her sleep.

My suggestion to anyone with braces is to wear rings instead of labret studs during the healing time, and then after 6 weeks if you go to a labret stud, at least sleep with a ring in.

My snake bite piercing hurt help me?

You shouldn't use a mouthwash that contains any alcohol in it.
here's the reason why..
Your blood is responsible for cleaning the bacteria out of your piercing (which is technically a wound) and carrying it to organs such as your spleen to be cleaned out and turned into waste. The organs basically filter out the bad bacteria. When you use alcohol mouthwash it dries the area out. This restricts blood flow. Less blood flow means less of the bacteria is being cleaned away. The bacteria builds up more and more, and your blood can't move fast enough to clean it away, and your piercing then becomes infected.
This drying out will often create a red, dry looking area around the piercing. This dry area is microscopic cracks in the skin, too small for you to see. This creates another entry point for bacteria, which increases infection.
Alcohol kills not only the bad bacteria (it can't clean it all away, it just keeps it in check, which is why the blood flow thing is important) but it also kills the newly forming good skin too. Meaning your healing time is going to be longer and the piercing just isn't going to heal up.

Try to get some non-alcoholic mouth wash, and if you can't, sea salt and warm water will do the trick. 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt (not table salt or epsom salt.. they're different) to 8oz of boiled water. Don't use less water unless you use less salt. That is the ratio you need to use. Some people will tell you to use a tablespoon of salt in a shot glass of water or something like that.... Thats way too strong and has the same drying effects as using alcohol.. Never go more than 1/4tsp to 8oz.
Your body really doesn't need that much help to heal itself and often the cleaning does more damage than good.

Remember to rinse your mouth with mouth wash/sea salt after every meal, having a smoke, etc.
If you touch the piercing from the outside, make sure your hands are washed and cleaned. If you happen to touch your piercing with dirty hands, clean the outer hole with the sea salt mixture.

How much does a lip piercing hurt?

I hate to be that person, but I sure hope you’re talking about going to a professional with your parents signature and getting it done in a safe clean environment. If we’re talking about having a friend stab a kinda sharp object through your lip, stop right there. It’ll hurt more, take longer to heal, and get infected. Now that you’re done rolling your eyes at me, back to the answer. I had a Monroe piercing. It hurt but not as bad as I thought. It’s a little prick, then a sting, then some blood, and done. You have a lip piercing. You’ll first have to wear a swell bar before you can have any cool jewelry. A swell bar is an extra long labret bar. Your lip is going to swell up for a few weeks and normal sized jewelry can get lost and stuck inside a swollen lip. Don’t try eating anything right after your lip is pierced. Pro tip, be extra careful about biting down on your new piercing. It’ll take getting used to. And most importantly, keep it clean. Buy whatever cleaning fluid your piercer recommends and clean it often. Being in your mouth offers much more opportunity for infection. If I remember correctly, I think the pain and swelling totally stopped after a month and it scarred up around 6 months after that.I say my lip piercing hurt more than my nose piercing, my friend says the opposite. It’s really about your pain tolerance. I wouldn’t let the pain stop you. I’m so afraid of needles but I suffered through literally 60 seconds to have it done. Pain is temporary. Just please, I can’t stress enough, go to a tattoo shop and have a professional do it for you.

When i can eat after getting snake bite lip piercings?

I had snake bites and the only problem i had with eating them when I first got them was i would lose the balls to the hoop. If you want to avoid losing tons of jewelry, ESPECIALLY for snake bites..I would advice in a month or 2 switch to studs. They look awesome and it's not as costly. As it goes for food, just eat food that doesn't irritate the piercing. If it begins to hurt avoid that food 'til your lips are better. Congrats on the snake bites..I miss mine!
