Does The Splat Hair Dye Really Work

Does Splat Hair Dye work?

Splat, like most other funky hair dyes out there, is a semi permanent color. This means that the color only deposits on the surface of the hair with absolutely no lift. The lighter your hair is; the more brilliant your color will be. If you were to put the pink on medium blonde hair without bleaching, you would get a color that's still pink, but a bit darker than what is on the box. I understand wanting to save yourself the damage caused by bleaching.

It will show up pink, just not a very bright pink.
Good luck with it!

Does SPLAT hair dye work?

I starting dying/adding streaks when I was twelve. You get it out of your system that way. :3

But I LOVE Splat and do recommend it! While I have never used green, I'd say go for it. I use their red hair dyes and they're great! The color lasting depends on how healthy your hair is when you dye it and how you care for your hair.

Use it like you would any other dye. It comes already mixed with developer so it's alright for immediate use. (:
If you are bleaching your hair though, don't dye immediately! Let it heal for a week (if in a hurry, do a deep conditioning treatment, wait a day, and dye it the next day. Like I said, dye sticks better to healthy hair!) and then dye it.

Remember when dying to not wash your hair for 24 hours. It sticks better with the natural oils in your hair, too. C:

Does Splat hair dye work well?

Yes it actually works . I use splat all the time and I dip dyed my hair using the blue envy. If you want bright colors make sure you use bleach and do the exact time on the box. But for the actual dye , I always keep mine in a couple of minutes extra cuz usually there is always spots that didn't get it. And it stains reeeeeaally easily so be careful. Lol I hope this helped!

Does Splat Hair Dye Work on African American Hair?

Yes! It definitely works. I have used it for the past several months. If you are a brunette you'll have to bleach your hair first to get the exact color on the box. I would recommend buying Ion "Color Brilliance" and "Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer" for bleaching. (I got them from Sally's.) This is because this brand offers a less harsh process than the bleach that comes with "Splat". Also, depending on the amount of hair you want to dye you will need to purchase more bleach. My natural hair color is the darkest brown before you get to black and I had to bleach my hair three times in order to get it light enough to get the lavender color advertised. It's really important though to space out the bleachings or your hair can fall out. I did mine about four days apart and my hair is fine, but a week or more is recommended. After you bleach and dye you should get a conditioner with silk protein. You shouldn't shampoo the bleached sections for a while, just condition them to get them back to their original healthy state.

Have fun! I LOVE PURPLE!

Is splat hair dye really a bad brand?

If it works for you, go for it. Your so-called friend could easily be jealous; you should learn to not listen to jealous morons.

Would Splat! hair dye work on really dark brown and black hair without bleaching it?

My friend wants to use Splat! for her hair but she has a weave in and everyone is like don't bleach it! So would it still work without bleaching it? Thanks!!

How do you remove splat hair dye dye from your forehead?

I know this post is a little old, but I just dyed my hair with Splat today. The top of my head and the ends of my hair colored. The length part did not. I know I had plenty of coverage. My hair is very long so I use 2 bottles. I still have some left in a bottle, thinking about trying to dye the parts that didn't color again. But as for this question, shaving cream! I was covered in purple. The stuff is a mess. I had baby wipes, but could touch them with the dye covered gloves, mess all over. Had dye remover wipes, second I touched it it was covered in dye. Shampoo on a rag, same problem. So I said screw it and finished my hair. Dye all over me. Now it is still on the back of my neck, my poor ears have so much purple on them they look black, as in rotting flesh. When I finished dying my hair, I wanted to clean my skin. I said eh what the heck, and grabbed my shaving cream. Rubbed it on my forehead and the dye came right off. It wasnt really working on my arms other the back of my neck but my face and front of neck is clean. I used it to clean the little mess I made off the floor and wall too. And it smells good ;)
