I think it does look tacky when ther is a sliver clock hanging around his neck, just a bit of bling bling But i guess if he wants to look like this let him, its his choice Hope that helped a bit x

depends on what else you are wearing it with really..if you are an overall tacky person anyway it will look tacky..if you are classy then you can pull of the fake stuff.

I bought my brother a chain for Christmas he lost his last two real gold ones and I bought a gold plated one instead for him but I'm afraid he won't like it ? I would barely notice the difference but I'm worried he might not wear it he's very odd about his jewelry so my question is in your opinion is gold plated jewelry cheap and ugly looking or is it nearly the same as real gold ?

i think silver would look better because it's more to the contrast of a black dress. gold would be too bright to wear with a dark dress

Yes, of course you can! However, the pieces must share the same vibe. Such as a bracelet that has white gold and yellow gold with diamonds. The design may be more modern or contemporary to pull of the combination of metals. Would I wear silver southwest jewelry with diamonds and pearls…NO! One would want the same genre like boho chic, sleek modern, classic, etc.. to mix within to keep it from looking too chaotic.

Not tacky at all. I actually wanted to wear costume jewelry but I didn't do it because I wore my mother's gold earrings (she wore them on her wedding day). So I didn't wear a necklace and then my cousin let me borrow her gorgeous but fake silver bracelet. I ended up not matching but it all looked gorgeous. Now I wish I would have searched more for the diffrent costume necklaces.
