Drugs Shrooms Read No Rudeness

Why are vegans so mean when it comes to....?

Perhaps he felt as if you were attacking his lifestyle choice first. Without knowing what was said between the two or you, it is hard to say why he "attacked" you. It seems as if you talked to him about how you could improve your diet as a vegan, there would be no reason for him to attack you, so that must not have been the whole conversation.

I remember a conversation I had with friends at one point(and it is why I refuse to speak about my dietary choice with people anymore). I'm not sure how the conversation got to the point of my vegetarianism, but it did. One "friend" simply asked what about the meat industry I didn't like, and in a truthful answer I told her(nothing really terrible, just about the conditions they are kept, etc). She then went on about how wrong I was and when I defended my position, all of a sudden I was pushing my beliefs on everyone(when she was the one that asked first, she was the one that got defensive off the bat, and she was the one that then in turn started attacking me for my beliefs). I think most veg*ns have to walk a fine line when it comes to talking about their lifestyle with non-veg*ns. Many omnivores that have tried to talk to me about my vegetarianism get very defensive about the answers to their questions, and while they are allowed to say anything the want, if I reply, they get mad, and all of a sudden I am preaching.

Both you and the other person simply could have misinterpreted what each one was saying. Perhaps he thought you were attacking him, and his life style. He then acted defensive of his position. You in turn got defensive and you both end up at a point where you think the other person is attacking you.

*On and added note* Did you ever find why you were so ill? A good course of action would be to know what was causing your illness(if it was even veganism), and then change your diet accordingly. If you were anemic, you would simply need to build your diet around iron rich vegan foods. A vegan knowledgeable nutritionist may be able to help you plan out a proper diet(you may just have been doing it wrong).

Is it immoral to visit Holland due to all the strip clubs, drugs, and prostitution?

I've lived in Amsterdam for about 15 years now and I cannot imagine a more pleasant and easy city to live in, at least in the Netherlands:- pretty decent public transport system- public ferries crossing the river IJ to take you to the North part of the city are free.- all you need is a bike- our guns shoot confetti or plain tap water (in the summer)- LGBT-friendly- the city keeps surprising me every single day: a new detail I see on the front of a house, birds and ducks in the canals, the green parrots from the Vondelpark, the wonderful mix of religious beliefs, political views, ideas, skin colors and ethnicity. I live in the West part of the city (mainly Turkish and Moroccan) and love it. The East side is more Surinamese and it's got amazingly yummy Surinamese food at each street corner- Cuisine: you name it, we've probably got at least a restaurant that does it.- Architecture: from late middle ages to sober yet elegant XX xentury Amsterdam school and hyper modern XXI century (Zuidas and IJburg)- Cool musea, a plethora of parks, groovy concert venues (Melkweg, Paradiso, Bumhuis)- Squats, and a rich underground/indie cultural scene- We've got beaches right downtown -- look 'em up.- And harbor safaris too (havensafari, till September)- Prostitutes in the red lights are legal businesses; they pay taxes and have rights like any other worker.- quite a few really awesome startup companies- Marijuana coffeeshops pay taxes.- Deaths caused by marijuana overdosis since the dawn of time: zero.If this is immoral, let me bask in it some more.
