Extreme Abdominal Pain After Ingesting Bisacodyl

I think I have extreme constipation?

I think I have an extreme constipation because it's been 2 weeks since I last defecate. I ate some blazing wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, which are really spicy, and since then, I haven't defecated once. I feel bloated and heavy and it's uncomfortable, what do I do? Help!

Medicines for constipation?

Constipation is most often caused by a low-fiber diet, lack of physical activity, not drinking enough water, or delay in going to the bathroom when you have the urge to defecate. Stress and travel can also contribute to constipation or other changes in bowel habits.

Other times, diseases of the bowel (such as irritable bowel syndrome), pregnancy, certain medical conditions (like an underactive thyroid or cystic fibrosis), mental health problems, neurological diseases, or medications may be the reason for your constipation. More serious causes, like colon cancer, are much less common.
Children and adults should get enough fiber in their diet. Vegetables, fresh fruits, dried fruits, and whole wheat, bran, or oatmeal cereals are excellent sources of fiber. To reap the benefits of fiber, drink plenty of fluids to help pass the stool.

Regular exercise is also important in establishing regular bowel movements. If you are confined to a wheelchair or bed, change position frequently and perform abdominal contraction exercises and leg raises. A physical therapist can recommend exercises appropriate for your physical abilities.

Stool softeners (such as those containing docusate sodium) may help. Additionally, bulk laxatives such as psyllium may help add fluid and bulk to the stool. Suppositories or gentle laxatives, such as milk of magnesia liquid, may establish regular bowel movements. Enemas or laxatives should be reserved for severe cases only. These methods should be used only if fiber, fluids, and stool softeners do not provide enough relief.

Call your doctor if you have:

Sudden constipation with abdominal cramps and an inability to pass gas or stool (DO NOT take any laxatives -- call immediately!)
Sharp or severe abdominal pain, especially if you're also bloated
Blood in your stool
Constipation alternating with diarrhea
Thin, pencil-like stools
Rectal pain
Unexplained weight loss
Been using laxatives for several weeks or self care is not working

and hope u'll get better

Why do I get constipation after eating refined wheat products? What is this condition called?

What i can conclude is that you may have gluten intolerance or celiac disease .Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley.Gluten doesn’t cause constipation in everyone but it can be problematic for some people who have sensitivity or allergies to it, or who have an autoimmune disorder called celiac disease. Those with celiac disease must avoid all products with gluten. If you think you are sensitive to it and it may be causing your constipation, talk to your doctor. There are many gluten-free foods available to enjoy that can replace the breads and pastas that typically contain gluten.Avoid dairy products also consume soy milk instead.for constipation you can take daily bulk laxative ie, Isabgol(psyllium husk) Stool softeners such as Colace and Surfak. Lubricant laxatives such as mineral oil(liquid petrolatum) Stimulant laxatives are the fastest-acting, such as include aloe, cascara (Nature's Remedy), senna compounds (Ex-Lax, Senokot), bisacodyl(Dulcolax, Correctol), and castor oil.Take these once after dinner with 2 glass of water.May the force be with you.

Would suppositories work for constipation?

Yes glycerin suppositories usually work with minimal discomfort. Bisacodyl suppositories also work but create more discomfort in the anus. Personally I prefer a 1 to 2 quart warm water enema. It's faster and more thorough.

What can you do for constipation when a suppository doesn't work?

Ok, so you won’t get it super fast but did you know if need be you can put 2–3 suppositories up there. Then take 2 stool softeners a day. Then buy a thing of mineral oil, drink 3 tablespoons of that.Buy some Epsom salt, and go soak in the bath after taking the recommended dose of milk of magnesia. Then buy some medjool dates at the store and no matter how gross they are just keep eating. If you get out and do not have bowel movement put another glycerin supp. up there. And I guarantee you will either have one in 15 minutes or later that night. Also when at the store buy some of those finger gloves (in suppository section). Those are a lifesaver coming from someone with chronic constipation. Just in case you have to go up there and loosen it yourself.Good luck!

Can an overdose of laxatives kill me?

I don't think it can kill immediately, but I shudder to think what it's doing to your kidneys. You kidneys can't process massive ammounts of medication without life-long dammage. And over the years and lifes regular damages to your kidneys...yes it can make you die faster.

But more than that I think you need to get yourself help pronto. You're displaying all the behaviors of an anorexic/belumic. What might kill yourself now is heart failure, that's what most anorexic's die of, and someone like you who is willing to OD on laxatives...it's very likely that that's where you're heading without help.
