Extremely Sore Tragus Piercing

Is it normal for my tragus piercing to be sore.?

It will be sore for a bit but it shouldn't be lasting too much longer. If it doesn't start to feel better you may want to get some professional advice just to be safe but i think it will probably stop. And to clean it you don't want to use anything but a sea salt and water mixture. You can buy H2ocean or saline solution or even just mix up your own. But don't use alcohol, it will dry out your piercing and may irritate it.

Extremely sore rook piercing?

I've had 4 piercings in each ear, plus 3 cartilage piercings in both ears, an industrial, my right tragus, and a rook done in both ears and believe me, the rook is ALWAYS the most painful. at least for me it was.
I had to remove the rook in my right ear because of keloids but my left ear rook is still in and still hurts a bit (only when bumped or if I sleep on that side).
It's been 5 months since I got my rooks done and it's still a bit sore so yeah, give it some time. I find the vitamin e oil helps to sooth it a bit. Thats what my piercer suggested to use on it.
About to go get my right daith done so wish me luck!

Crusty, sore tragus piercing?

So I got my tragus pierced about a week ago, maybe a little over a week. And its been sore ever since. I was told to clean it 3 times a day with warm water and anti-bacterial soap (like Dial) so thats what ive been doing... but lately, the skin around my ear is realllly dry, and also, theres now crunchy crusty stuff around the hole (where its pierced) it also hurts to move it):
could this just be part of the healing process?
my boyfriend told me to slow up on the cleaning, maybe instead of 3 times a day, 2 times. when i wake up and when i go to bed.

Is there anything else that I could be using to clean it??
Im not so sure about this anti-bacterial soap, doesnt feel like its working):

ALSO - im not sure which section to ask this question under :\ so i went with what it said to put it under

Tragus piercing pain?

This is VERY common with any cartlidge piercing. You should go back to the piercer and he will be able to give you more information. All of my cartlidge piercings did do that too. The salt water solution did help my swelling go down, but it took a few days. Remember that this piercing can take up to a full year to completely heal.

Tragus Piercing still sore when I move the ring, crusty, red bumps?

So...I got my right tragus pierced like 9 months ago, and when I move the ring up to clean my ears under it, its still really sore. On the inside part of my ear, its crusty, and on both the inside and outside I have a little redish/purple bump. It's obviously skin because it gets sore when I pick at it and try to peel the scabs off to clean it. I did talk to my piercer, and she said to put teatree oil on it multiple times a day, but obviously that isn't working very well. Any ideas on how to get it back to normal and not painful when I move my earring around?

Thanks!

Tragus piercing extremely swollen and painful, anything to help?

I got my tragus pierced on thursday, it was a painful experience with some blood, but after the initial piercing it was fine.

I woke up on saturday with some swelling around the area. It kept me up last night as I was trying not to sleep on it. I've been following the cleaning instructions and not playing with it.

This morning I woke up and it had swollen even more and is really painful to the touch. My tragus is huge and the pain is becoming unbearable. There is also some bruising below the piercing.

I dont want to take the piercing out, and I accept it may be what new piercings do, but does anybody know if there is any way to help the swelling and pain?

Thankyou.

How much do tragus piercings hurt?

I got my tragus piercing done last year and tbh it didn’t hurt. Like at all, the only thing is that changing your piercing is kind of hard because it is like a screw on but overtime you get used to changing it. It is a beautiful piercing and it is painless so in my opinion if you want it get it.

Swollen and painful tragus piercing..help.!!?

It sounds infected. You should see a doctor as an infection in this area can cause major complications. No, it won't heal by tomorrow.

A tragus piercing is a delicate procedure because the area (that little tab of skin and cartilage the sticks out at the front of the ear and partially covers the ear canal) is small and so close to the head. A skilled piercer should do this type of piercing to make sure it is properly placed in the fold close to the head on the first attempt, other wise a tragus piercing may migrate somewhat or heal crooked.

Nearly all tragus piercings you see are a captive bead ring between a 20 and 14 gauge for good reason – these are comfortable and work well in that small of an area. Anything thinner might cut right through, anything larger will have a tendency to get caught or be a hindrance in the ear canal and not hang properly.

A tragus piercing needs careful cleaning every day, following the aftercare instructions provided. This is especially true since this is in a part of the body where infection can lead to serious complications. You don’t want an infection of a tragus piercing that could spread to other parts of the ear, and sleeping on a tragus piercing will only aggravate the problem.

So when you go for a tragus piercing, keep in mind that you will need to take special care with your ears (no wearing earphones, extra care when talking on the phone, etc.) for at least three to six months if you want to keep it.

Sore tragus?

Could you be allergic to the jewelry? It's odd that it would be itchy this soon after piercing. Don't get me wrong. At a week after piercing, oh yeah! Itchy like crazy! Maybe you're one of those people that heal super fast. :)
try this: Your skin might just be dry. After you wash it, place the tiniest layer of antibacterial ointment between your thumb and forefinger. (When i say tiniest, I mean barely there!) Put it on the jewelry and run the jewelry through the hole. Maybe moistening the skin a bit will take the edge off the itchy. If that doesn't work and it's unbearable, try Bactine numbing stuff. Do not use it often!!! Only when you can't stand it anymore! If the area gets red and hot, see a doc. i think you'll be ok though! :)
