My guess is that the tracking ID has been generated (as in, he has paid for shipping and got the tracking id) but had not had the item actually shipped yet. You should see an update as soon as it recieves a scan from Fedex. It should recieve a pickup scan, and then an outbound scan when it gets to the local station.

Greetings All My question is how to scan a FedEx tracking to an Excel cell. We are trying to scan the FedEx tracking number but the number that appears in the cell is not the number scanned. Usually it ends with 13 0s on the end. Ideally I would like to scan the tracking number and have the tracking number appear without the remaining characters. The sender of my package lost the tracking number he sent me and I need this tracking number because I am hardly home. I need to know when the package will be delivered. I was unsure if Fedex would give it to me over the phone. Has anyone has experience with this? Thanks.
