divide the area by the length of the side you know. This will give you the length of the other sides. Then you can add the lengths of all 4 sides to find the perimeter. Is the area really 60,000 m squared or is it 60,000 cm squared? If it really is 60,000 m squared, you will need to change 400 cm to 4m before you divide. That would make the other side 15,000m. So I am guessing that it should be 60,000 cm squared.

If I want a larger square the side length would have to be longer. To get the longest side length I need to use the longest perimeter I can get. Since the largest possible perimeter is 80 cm long the perimeter that I will use is 80 cm.

1). there are 4 congruent sides in a square. to find the one side length I need to divide the length of the perimeter by 4.
80/4=20cm
the length of one side is 20cm

2). Now that I know the side length I can eazily find the square's area by using the formula Area=base(height).
Because the square has congruent sides I would use 20 for both base and height.
A=b(h)
plug it in
A=20(20)
A=400 sq cm
