Give Me Some Examples Of When You Explained To An Interviewer About Why You Suddenly Or Not Quit

How do I explain to a recruiter/interviewer why I'm leaving my current job after just 3-5 months?

Honesty is necessary if asked specifics, but you are entitled to put as positive a spin on it as possible. One thing you must NOT do is blame the company or the boss because the recruiter will interpret this as you’re vindictive and angry and the type to always put the blame on others. Even if the boss was horrible, try the approach below. The most general answer is usually, ‘It wasn’t what it seemed in the interview stage or when the offer was made’ and you can say generally why - not enough challenge, not enough… whatever, perhaps even ‘a difficult environment’ although if you say that they will surely ask why and you’ll be stuck trying not to damn everyone. Try not to blame it on pay (you seem greedy) or lack of immediate promotion unless things were promised to you when you signed on that didn’t come through. Even then you should describe that as ‘apparently considerable miscommunication’ rather than say straight out that ‘they lied.’It is important with this sort of thing to write out the answer to ‘why did you leave (so soon, but it can apply to why you left any previous job), keep it short, then practice it out loud. People often create very good reason statements, but fail to practice out loud so when they’re actually asked they stumble and mumble. That’s definitely not good. You want to be clear, very short and to the point. If asked, repeat, don’t expand unless asked something specific.

What are the best excuses to suddenly quit your job with the shortest notice period without hurting the boss?

A few months ago I hired a guy to be a broiler cook at my restaurant. He was highly recommended and I liked him immediately when I met him at the interview. He was anxious to work at our up and coming restaurant, which doesn’t open until September ‘17, and I offered him a sweetheart deal. I hired him at a good rate, planned to train him at my present location and then allow him to transfer in August to the new location. Once he transferred, I offered to train him on a second station, after which he would receive a raise, as well as preferred scheduling. It doesn’t get much better than that.About a month after he started training he called me out of the blue and quit. He claimed that his present job, at a high end grocery store, needed additional help and he felt compelled to give them the hours they needed. Naturally, I was flabbergasted. He even had the balls to ask me when hiring was going to begin at the new restaurant because he planned on applying for a position there. I told him I wasn’t sure and ended the call.Yesterday I was at the grocery store where he works and they had a samples of brie cheese topped with black truffles and crackers for dipping. I made a bee line for the table because I wanted nothing more than to slather some crackers with brie and truffle. I got about five feet from the table and the guy steps out in front of me. I was surprised to see him and a little annoyed that he was keeping me from the cheese and truffle table. He starts going on and on about how he was sorry and asked again when hiring for the new restaurant was going to start. I was looking around him at the table of goodness and the crowd hovering around it. I didn't want to talk to this guy, I wanted cheese and truffles on crispy crackers! I said “Late August, we start hiring in late August”, shook his hand and walked around him straight to the table. Then I slathered some crackers with buttery truffled goodness and shoved them into my greedy mouth. Yum, yum, yum, that was good.I didn’t want to talk to that guy, he quit, over the phone, without notice, and now he wants to apply to work at my new restaurant. He didn’t hurt my feeling, I just want nothing to do with him. Don’t burn bridges, tell the truth and give two weeks.

Telephone interview question...How do you adapt to change?

How do you adapt to change? A good way to respond to this question is to discuss how you are able to shift priorities. For instance when you have planned your day and what you are going to work on and something hot comes up. Do you freak out or do you adjust your priorities calmly and accept the change. Another part of handling change is working in a fast paced environment where information that is coming in to you may create a change in how you handle an aspect of an ongoing project. What they are looking for is a person who stays calm cool and collected and can deal with a sudden change to the daily workload or project. If you look at it this way you should be able to answer confidently. Also give an example from your past where you had to deal with change and how you handled it.

Your in the door for the interview so they liked what they heard so far. As far as the silence on their end they most likely were jotting down notes or setting your interview time so the silence was them writing things down. Good Luck

Why are you interested in this position?

Thats the question that you have to suddenly be prepared to kiss some a-s-s. You can mention a couple tasks you would be responsible for at the new job...whatever one or 2 of those may be, bring one up..and say you have always believed you would do a great job at _____ whatever it is.... and that the duties required of this position interest you and say that you know somehow you will get into a position that requires those tasks from you.... sounds corny, and I don't even know what your job requires...but say... you had to deal with people, you could say you love working with people and you are determind to find a position that allows you to work with others because you know you would do a wonderful job at that. And also that you like a professional working environment and that is another reason this job appeals to you.... really, its making the interviewer believe you love them...when all you really need is more money in a job... good luck!!

Job interview for home depot, and not being able to make the drug test.?

I had a Job Interview for Home Depot today, and they told me I needed a drug test today, as well. My grandfather passed away over night, last night and I'm headed out of town for his funeral now. Would It be OK for me to call Home Depot and explain to them my situation, and reschedule the test? I'm not a user so I'm not trying ot avoid it, just.. more important things came up. Will I still be considered for the Job if I can't start right away? I'll get back the 26th, (about 1 week) do you think that will be OK?
Thanks in advance!

LABOR CODE OF THE PHIL: what is terminal leave exactly?

Yes it is a terminal leave. It would be best to consume all your leave credits since they are not to pay for it anyway. Although some companies would not grant it and make other arrangement. You try to apply it and inquire it in your HR Department

Hope this helps and good luck to your new job.

How do you win an unemployment appeal, if you quit?

For all the millions of people on here getting bad advice : I see this asked all the time: "Can you quit and still collect?" YES YES AND YES ...but there are rules involved: Of course you cant just quit for no reason..but if you quit due to stress... demotion...unfair employers ..or if you were hired for one job and they gave you something different...etc... you CAN collect... first you must exhaust all options in trying to resolve the issues with your employer..meaning ..talking with all supervisors managers HR and GMS until a resolution is found. (this may be useless but it must be done ).If your issue cant be resolved and you feel you have to quit you then will have to go to a hearing. At this hearing you must prove that you have exhausted ALL options in resolving your issue and that quitting was your last option!! ( you should document all talks with management soo you can keep your facts straight).
