Good Beaches For Shelling Near Jacksonville Fl

Where can I find hermit crabs and really big shell?

first you say you want to find wild crabs, they you say you won't keep them, and then proceed to discuss the tank where you want to keep them in ... if you want hermit crabs do the research and buy them from the store ... hermit crabs are considered exotic pets and how you have described keeping them, they will be dead within a week ... so use your creativity to create a great crabitat but do it in an educated way ... google land hermit crab care and read up on hermit crab sites ... and save your money because to set up a correct crabitat takes at least 100 dollars ... and if crabs are not kept in an appropriate crabitat, they die slowly and painfully ... do you know how hermit crabs breathe, through modified gills like fish and without a tank in the correct humidity range, they die slowly and painfully ... their tanks also need heaters because if they fall below 72 degrees than can do dormant and any lower temp, they can die ... hermit crabs can not live on shells or gravel ... right there you have no clue ... and here is a tip, buy your pets from a pet store, do not take anything from the wild ... and those holes in the beach are clams not hermit crabs ...

Best Beaches for kids?

Hello from the Midwest!

We're going to Disney World next week, and my kids (9 and 7) have never seen the ocean. We'd LOVE to take them to a beach, but would like it to be a good one.

What beaches would you recommend that are (A) Not party central (little kids don't need that and wouldn't like it anyway) and (B) fairly pretty with a chance of seeing maybe a little wildlife? Willing to drive a couple of hours to get there.

I have heard Clearwater is pretty, that Honeymoon Island might be a good place, and we're eyeing some of the stuff in St. Augustine, but aren't sure about getting to an actual beach there.

Suggestions? Websites?

THANKS!!!!

What are the best places to live in Florida?

That really all depends and what your goals are and what you want to get out of the place you are living in. Let’s create a few scenarios:Single in Early to Mid 20’s Looking For Low Cost of Living+Social OpportunitiesClearwater BeachClearwater Beach is like a less expensive version of Miami Beach. Fun nightlife and mom and pop shops on the beach. Bars and hole in the wall shops line the beach. The nearby economies of Tampa and St. Petersburg are pretty solid for Florida standards. In Tampa the unemployment rate is 6% and job growth is triple the national average. Work in Tampa and reside in Clearwater Beach.Late 20’s / Early 30’s with Established Career and Still Wants to PartySouth BeachHonestly, if you have some money to throw around and are looking to capitalize on a strong social life, South Beach is the place for you. The greater Miami economy actually isn’t that great overall. Unemployment is about 1.5% higher than the national average, and projected job growth is about 3% slower than the projected national average. Plus the cost of living in Miami is high. So you probably don’t want to be starting out here. But if your established and want to have some fun before you get too old, take your talents to South Beach.Ready to Settle Down 30’s-40’sSarasota, Tampa, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Cape Canaveral, If your mid-career and looking to settle down, check out these cozy towns with decent economies and reasonable cost of living. If you’re looking for the beach check out Cape Canaveral and Sarasota. Sarasota has Siesta Key beach which is consistently voted one of the best beaches in the world.Ready for RetirementSt. Augustine, Boca Raton, Melbourne, Ft. LauderdaleIt’s more important to find the right community where you will actually spend most of your time when retired. In just about every city there are one or two nice spots. Own a boat and want to park it in your back yard and live in a nice house for around 200K? Check out Mira Bay on Apollo Beach. Are you retired military and want to live with in a community filled with other retired military personnel? Check out the Indian River Colony Club. Here is a complete list if you want to learn more about the top spots to retire in Florida. Good luck finding the right spot!
