Got a tattoo 5-6 days ago, can I use scented lotion?
I got a tattoo 5-6 days ago & it's starting to itch really bad & peel. I've been using A&D ointment 2 to 3 times a day every day. & I know you're suppose to use lotion on it at some point, but unscented, so I was just wondering if it was okay to use scented lotion now since it's been 5-6 days. I was considering using Jergens original scent-Cherry Almond Moisturizer.
How often should i put lotion on my tattoo when it starts to scab?
i got mine a month ago and i used lotion only twice a day, even tho my tattoo was peeling and scabbing and dry. but dont over-moisturize it. just wash it regulary and keep the area clean and dry. and no perfumed soaps, body wash, or lotion. those may cause a chemical reaction on your skin!
How long after a tattoo heals can you use scented lotion?
6-8 week because even after it scrapes over the underneath is still not healed
How long will my tattoo be shiny? It has been 6 days since I got it. It has scabbed and peeled off, and it still looks shiny. Why is that?
That’s totally fine. The tattoo is actually still healing( the tattoo as a whole and the skin wont be fully healed for at least a couple of months) and that shiny layer is new skin which will become dry depending on you. That shininess may last a week so( such as my case). After the tattoo will look cloudy which is also normal in the final healing process.
Tattoo question, saran wrap on tattoo?
i got a tattoo on my wrist yesterday afternoon and the tattoo artist told me to use a&d ointment and put saran wrap on it for two days then after the two days i can just use non-scented lotion without the saran wrap and the a&d ointment. But i was reading online and a lot of people disagree with the saran wrap, im confused. Is it a good idea or a bad idea?

a week and a half. dont scratch use unscented lotion no fragrance, I use lubriderm. I have 13 tattoos and im going back in 2 days to get my latest one finished. Trust me on this. if it itches slap it, will feel good thn might have a little burn but its worth it.. what kind of tatt did u get?
Is it Normal for my tattoo artist to tell me to keep the bandage for 3 days?
It depends on the bandage. If it was a simple moisture absorbing bandage with some tape, then no, I would no follow that advice. with that method of tattoo healing you leave the dressing in place until it stops oozing and then you wash path dry with clean paper towels and add ointment. I don’t heal well this way and have switched to saniderm dressings for four days.Saniderm is a thin, clear, occlusive bandage. Your artist will place it and you remove it anywhere from 2–4 days. The magic day for me is day 4. I take it off at day 4 and i heal like a champ. No erosion of skin, no loss of ink, no weird bumps… it’s heaven. I highly recommend this method.
