Got Done With My Draft. Rate My Team And Any Future Advice.

Rate my NBA 2K8 fantasy draft team?

Barbosa needs to play bench, and Rondo needsd to come up. WHY?? Because...rondo is getting better each year, hes got moves on top of moves, sweet dishes and knows what to do with the rock. When he's tired, fast moving Barbosa comes off the bench, and gets every body on a roll.

Childress nor Green, trade somebody. Get Kevin Martin, he's a future all-star, proving he belongs in the nba. Or get Gordon, you could use some 3 point shooters and a guy who kn0ws how to get you some points.

Anthony...NICE.
Wallace...fantastic choice.
Aldridge, sweet. Future star. Try subbing in Mutombo, he gets blocks you'll never see coming, and goes all out for rebounds in the paint.

Is Peyton Manning actually UNDERrated?

I know that sounds crazy, and let me start off by saying that I'm not even a Colts fan. I follow the New York football Jets, if you don't believe me you can look through my answer history.

Obviously everybody knows that Peyton Manning is at worst a top 3 QB in the NFL, but in my mind it shouldn't even be questioned that he's the best. In fact, I think we should be talking about where he ranks with Montana and Unitas instead of with Brady and Brees.

I understand that he "only" has one Super Bowl ring, but in this day and age it's DEFENSE that wins Super Bowls. Obviously it's great if you're a QB that can do what needs to be done when the situation calls for it, but if your team doesn't have a dominant defense you won't even be in a position to do so, and the Colts defenses are either riddled with injuries or just plain old bad, and more often than not end up costing the Colts a shot at the title. The one year Bob Sanders was healthy and everybody was playing up to their potential, what do you know, the Colts come out on top.

I honestly can't begin to understand how much of a shameless homer you have to be to think that Peyton wouldn't have more rings than Brady is his teams had the kind of defense that the Pats have had in the past.

Also, Brady only began to put up all pro caliber stats when he got all pro caliber talent around him, like Randy Moss and Wes Welker. His numbers were good when he had Troy Brown and Deion Branch, but not anywhere near the level of Peyton's.

Finally, it's Peyton's performance this year that's impressed me the most. The only proven receivers on his roster are Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne, and he's began to make household names out of guys like Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon.

Also, this is the first year that he's had a medicore offensive line in a long time, and you know how many times he's been sacked?

Is saying "please advise" in an email request polite or obnoxious?

Personally I don’t like seeing it, but I do use it myself sometimes in cases where I’m a little frustrated, for example about:Someone made a request to me (or to nobody in particular) that’s unclear or lacks sufficient information that the person really should have provided.I received a comment that’s not even a request but more just stating a fact of some kind. I’m now wondering if action should be taken and if so, what action. I’m frustrated here with the lack of clarity, so my reply may end with a ‘Please advise.’A lot of discussion without any clear next steps or task assignment.Another advantage of using it is that it establishes very clearly to a casual reader on Cc that an issue is not with me, it is with the other person and I’m waiting for his/her input. For me personally I would never use it out of the blue in a first polite request for information. So yes, I do intend to be a bit more direct (possibly not crossing into rude) when I use it, although I see it enough to know that not everyone uses it that way.

Tips on becoming a great writer?

I love to write, I am currently a college student trying to decide between being a journalist or a lawyer. I eventually want to be a full time fiction writer. Any advice?

Is it correct to use the following sentence, “We will keep you updated once we receive an update from team.”?

It's not. It's kind of awkward -in form, and in appearance. And not very pleasing to the ear, either. The repetition of a word (update here) is identified as a language disorder, which better be avoided.‘We will keep you posted on any further update from the team’.We will keep you posted on updates/developments as they come in.We'll keep you in the loop about any update/ word from the team. We'll keep you updated on the latest developments/latest news from the team, if any. We'll keep you posted if there's any more update from the team. We'll keep you posted on additional developments, if any. We'll keep you posted if we hear of any interesting news from the team. We'll fill you in/ clue you in, if we receive any news from the team. We'll keep you updated on the latest news from the team.

My office tends to empty out around 6:30, but my boss stays hours later—and I sit next to him. Should I pull longer hours to impress the guy?

You can if you want to, but it’s not the only way you can impress your boss.Your boss might work longer hours because they have more responsibilities than you, or because they are so busy during the day with managerial duties that they need to catch up on other tasks after 6:30pm. They might even be bad at managing their time and are having to play catch-up at the end of the day simply because they weren’t focused or productive in the morning. That’s their decision, but it doesn’t mean that YOU working later will impress them. (In fact, it might even make them wonder why you are the only one who can’t finish all of their tasks before 6:30pm)Your boss will be more impressed by the RESULTS you can achieve and your overall ATTITUDE to work, rather than your hours worked. Here are some alternate ideas for impressing your boss:Come into work every morning with a smile and a friendly greeting for your colleagues.Always be learning and asking questions so you can get better at your role and do great work.Measure your performance and your achievements, so you can communicate how your efforts improve the bottom line.Stay focused while at work. Get stuff done rather than surfing the internet on company time.Take the initiative with projects and assignments - don’t wait for someone else to tell you what to do.Be proactive. Always be thinking of creative and innovative ways to achieve the company’s goals more effectively, and present them to your boss.Be supportive of your colleagues and collaborate with them.Take constructive criticism gracefully and apply the feedback.Ask your boss how you can help them accomplish their professional goals or make their life easier. If a problem arises, seek a solution instead of expecting your boss to solve it.When things go wrong, don’t whine or focus on the negatives. Instead, focus on what you need to do to improve the situation. So, you don’t necessarily have to sacrifice all your evenings to impress your boss. You can do all these things while working normal hours. It’s not about how many hours you work, it’s about whether you come across as a team player in the workplace who approaches work with positive energy and enthusiasm.Good luck!PS. If you do decide to work overtime and you are the type of employee who qualifies for overtime pay, make sure you understand the overtime employment laws in your location so you can verify that you’re being paid correctly.

My parents won't let me play soccer?

Even though I've never played soccer before, I really wanna learn it. I watch professional soccer all the time and have been visiting websites lately to familiarize myself with terms, positions, rules, etc. My parents won't let me because they think it's a dangerous sport that takes up too much time and they want me playing tennis instead (tennis and soccer are in the same season in my high school). But it's not like I've played tennis more than a few months and there's no guarantee that I'd actually make my school's JV team next year, so why not try a new sport at the same time and see which one I'm better at? They also assume it's too late for me to learn soccer, but didn't someone say it's never too late to learn something new unless you try your best and have a genuine passion for it? So, how do I convince my parents?
I got good grades in middle school and I'm taking 5 honors my freshman year, so my academics shouldn't be a problem. I want to be a great athlete and feel positive about myself. I don't care about injuries, I wanna prove myself to everybody. Our family doesn't have much money either, that's a part of the reasons why they'd hate to buy me expensive equipments and enroll me into soccer organizations unless they're free like the school teams. But the second option is impossible since JV and Varsity teams obviously wouldn't take in newbies like me.
I found out AYSO is the only place for students of or over fifteen years to learn soccer for the first time, but people say they don't teach kids on a competitive level, so it won't help if I wish to train and get into high school teams. Those people recommend me to join my town's rec teams, but they don't accept anybody without a tryout. Should I just get the feel of the sport in AYSO? Anybody who has had experiences with AYSO please advise me: how are the coaches/participants like, is the cost affordable, how many hours/times do you have to meet in an average week?

Can you change your mind once you've enlisted in the Navy?

Ok, if you are in the DEP program and have Not taken your Second Oath of Enlistment , signed your contract and shipped to Boot Camp (usually all done on the day you ship out to boot camp) , then you can back out of DEP. You will be within your rights. You will need to draft a letter to the Recruiting Command stating you wish to be released from DEP and no longer wish to join. The recruiter may be angry and try to talk you out of backing out but there is nothing they can truly do. So if you get any threats then they aren't telling the truth. However, if you change your mind and decide later on to join again, the Navy may be hesitant to work with you.

IF you ship to boot camp then you are in the Navy and getting out with a good discharge becomes extremely difficult.

My advice is make sure you really know that you want to be in the Navy before ever going to MEPS and signing a contract. Make sure you get the job you want and don't get pressured and stuck with something you don't really want to do. Your ASVAB scores have something to do with this. Make sure you ship to "A" school immediately after Boot Camp (Grad and GO). Don't sign up for any Targeted A school or other programs that send you to deck division for up to 18 mos.
