Well congratulations. From your descriptions you sound like a male model. I'm sure you might not be feeling like one at the moment,due to your hair. I think posting a photo would definitely help. For your modesty you may like to blurt out your face if that makes you comfortable. :)Really if I were you I would find photos you like and take them to your barber. Also the thing with barbers is a lot of them are stuck in their routine. Not that this is a bad thing. Some barbers are constantly doing a lot of professional and business haircuts, so you may not be getting a stylish cut you want.I woukd definitely seek out a stylist. Probably a stylist in a trendy area. Ask for the manager of the salon or a stylist who can do a consultation for you first. I believe that way you get the best results. This way they can see your hair and figure out which product will work best for you.Really from your description if you were my client I would want to do a super cool edgy gender fluid hair cut on you. Only if you were ok with it. As I think even though it is gender fluid it looks great on on men. That or maybe and edgy low maintenance messy spiky type cut. Like wet a mess and some product.

Hairstyles for short thick hair?
I have really thick short (Shoulder length) poofy hair. I don't have natural curls or anything. I hate straighting my hair as well, and I just look silly. Are there any easy and fast hairstyles for my type of hair? Other then putting it in a bun, I've been doing that for years and its just ugly now. I need new hairstyles for my thick ugly hair.?
so i am well known at school for being the girl with the pretty hair. they dont realize how impossible my hair is. i take like 2 hours in the morning just to do it. my hair naturally is thick, frizzy, poofy, and it is curly in some spots, straight in the other, and kind of wavy on the rest. for summer i dont want to apply heat to my hair whatsoever. can you please give me a ton of hairsyles that i can do for summer? and scruching my hair is impossible!!!! i spend all morning trying to do it but i just cant! i use a crap load of gel and mousse and hairspray and scruch for a long time! and i make sure not to brush it, so why cant i do it?

Sometimes when hair is too silky, the answer to making it style-able is to damage it. Years ago when I first started styling hair, conditioners became very popular. i noticed that with my hair and many others that if the hair was too healthy, it would not hold a good style. If I permed or colored the hair it became more manageable and would stay styled longer. So, how can you damage the hair but not change the color or curl? 1. You can run 40 volume peroxide through it, let that sit for about 20 minutes, then shampoo. This may lighten the hair a bit, but not significantly if the peroxide is not mixed with color. If it does lighten too much for your taste simply re-dye it to your natural color as this will cause a bit more damage and give even more control. 2. you can run perm solution through it but not use curlers. This will break the bonds in the hair a cause it to swell, making it more manageable. You need to leave the perm solution on for at least 20 minutes, then shampoo and leave to dry. After you have performed one of these techniques, do not use conditioner as this will coat the hair and make it silky again.Good luck
