Why does my clothes dryer have condensation around the door and lint trap?
We have a small home, and our clothes washer and dryer are located in our minimally insulated garage. During the last cold snap I noticed condensation on the inside of the dryer door. The lint trap had moisture dripping into it. I cleaned the lint trap and as much of the inside as I could reach, and checked the seal around the dryer door. Now I still see drips of condensation each time I open the dryer door, even when it has not been used in a day or two. The dryer vent line runs under (or through) our concrete foundation and out the back side of the house. I have tried several types of vent covers, but they do not really fit the exhaust pipe. The dryer is about 14 or 15 years old and has worked well until now. The house is about 16 years old. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
