What should I know about Alienware? How do I know if I have legit Alienware systems?

What should you know umm…Alienware was one of the first gaming laptop division(opened in 1996)The guys at Alienware have named their products with real alien conspiracy theories like Area 51, Hangar 18The name was chosen Alienware because of the founders fond of The X-Files seriesThe original name of this company was Sakai of Miami, Inc. until 1997 when changed to Alienware. It has a gaming console by the name of Alpha(announced in 2014)(now discontinued)The numbers after it's model is for it's screen size like Alienware 13 and Alienware 17Alienware was a separate company till 2002. Afterwards it was purchased by Dell for increasing the Gaming Division. Now to know if you have legit Alienware system look for its logo. Then look at the back panel and look for model no. Or inside of battery it'll look like some letters related to model (like 17, 15, M17, M17x, M17x with suffixes, R2, R3 etc)Hope it helps you

When will the New Dell G series launch in India?

My best guess is not before September 2018.Dell always plays double standards with India.Never ever releases high end laptops the same year as they launch in US.I was waiting for alinenware 13 with 7th gen i7.And it took a whole year and still the OLEd version did not arrive in India. It's best to just get it from US through a friend or relative. Don't worry about warranty. Physical damages are not covered in warranty anyways.

How would you rate the Alienware laptops for use in deep learning?

Sorry to announce that deep learning and laptop cannot meet.Deep Learning seriously starts with GPUs like Nvidia 1080. My quite small NLP experiments takes some days on 1080. You don’t want to see your laptop at 100% CPU/GPU load for such an amount of time. You can start small models, you can learn a lot, you can experiment with your laptop, but calling it deep learning isn’t serious.Have fun, it’s way enough to learn so do it, but don’t expect to easily replicate truly deep learning results.

Should I get a PS5, gaming laptop or a desktop PC?

Well it depends really. The PS5 has yet to be announced, it's been teased by Sony I think twice. If you really want an all around, all bells and whistles type of experience then please join the PC community, it's growing rapidly, but it also can be a big hassle at times depending on what games you want to play. Say you want to play some of your old PS3 or Xbox 360 games, you can find them for sale on Steam or GOG, but most likely they'll be a trash port *cough cough* Grand Theft Auto 4 *cough cough* but the advantages outweigh the negatives such as:Permanent upgradabilityModsHigher FrameratesBetter resolutionsGet a PC, as the PS5 is likely 5 more years from even being announced

When will Sony start making laptops again?

Don't wait for Sony to return to the notebook computer market, they may never return as mentioned below in other answers. If you need a system badly, look at the current lineup from existing manufacturers.Several really nice ultra light systems have been released recently that are worth checking out if you're traveling much. Dell has their XPS 13" system as does HP. You also can't deny the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro as a great option for quality. If you need some help picking good brands:http://m.blog.laptopmag.com/lapt...

Is the MacBook Air still the best choice in 2017 in India or is there any other rival in the market for the same price tag?

If your choice is Mac Book Air for programming then it's not a very good one. You should either be looking at the Mac Book Pro or similar heavy duty laptops which come with good processor (core i5 and above), at least 8 GB ram, 256 GB SSD and a good graphic card. This will cost nearly 1L if you go for Mac Book Pro or other laptops like HP spectre, Dell XPS etc.
