Has Linkedin Helped You Land A Job I

Has linkedin actually helped YOU land a job, or not?

A informative Linkedin profile can be useful if you're applying for a job through Linkedin, as the employers might take a look at your profile. However, it's no big task and do not pay anyone to create your LinkedIn profile. They're just trying to make more money. It's like any other career profile, easy to do it yourself.
I apply for lots of jobs on Linkedin.com because the quality of jobs available there is better than any other job board

How many people would say linkedin helped them to get jobs?

Perhaps not the answer you are looking for but it has certainly helped our company (Brookmark Research Services) land new business relationships.

How has LinkedIn helped you?

LinkedIn has been very useful for me in many ways especially in marketing. Because there is nothing better option than having suggestions from the professionals on the everyday basis.Firstly, it is the job seeking network where you can upload your resume and can search for the jobs. Even the recruiters also use it to get the employees for their company. It is the most professional social channel among all other social media sites. So, it is well suited for the marketing especially for the B2B marketers. How LinkedIn can help you:-LinkedIn is the leading professional network on the web.Connect with classmates, faculty, and family professionally.Find new opportunities for internships and full time positions.Manage what potential employers learn about you from the Internet.Find key contacts at companies that interest you.Why join LinkedIn?Build your professional brand/ market yourself in your field.Find and pursue your career passion by browsing profiles and connecting with professionals in your field.Build and maintain professional relationships.Turn professional relationships into opportunities.Research staff at companies as you prepare for interviews and other opportunities.

Has LinkedIn helped you get a job? If so, do you have any tips?

Yes, LinkedIn has been deciding factor in all the Jobs I have applied so far,Even if you apply with a resume in some company websites or Job portals, there is a high probability that HR will go through your linkedIn profile and even other social media profiles like facebook, twitter etc to know more about you.Based on the information found online almost 70% of recruiters have made a decision NOT to hire someone based on this report.First you can check How optimised your current linkedIn profile, to do that go here (this is a beta version)In the above mentioned link you will also see what all information recruiters might see when they search for you! Here is a Snapshot of what recruiters generally see, when they are searching for profiles on LinkedIn:LinkedIn shows your Profile Picture, Headline, Location , Current and Past roles and searched Keywords.if the person's profile is not complete then all the great details from the profile are not visible. So for the best impression you have to invest in all these areas! As per LinkedIn, here are 5 steps to the dazzling LinkedIn Profile:Update your profile picture which has a plain background and an approachable appearance (with a smile).Craft a killer opening: over-invest in your headline and summary. Along with your photo, your headline is the first thing people see on your LinkedIn profile. Use this area to speak directly to your target audience, including phrases or keywords they might be using to find you.Update your Experience such that it has all your current and past roles listed with a description which showcases your accomplishments, talents, and accolades in a compelling manner. It's always a good idea to have a mix of endorsements and recommendations to show and not just tell employers what you can do.Showcase your work by uploading/linking rich media (like pictures, videos, blogs, presentations etc) to your profile.with that being said, you really have to invest a lot of time in crafting the perfect LinkedIn profile that works for you.else you can always use paid LinkedIn Profile Makeover services.

Do you know anyone who has ever gotten a job through LinkedIn?

I got my current job and the best job I’ve had through a connection on LinkedIn. I found out about this job through LinkedIn and contacted the vice president of the company (my contact) via LinkedIn message. This is a more effective approach than simply applying for jobs via LinkedIn jobs. That may work for some, but I doubt it works that well.I find it’s much more effective to directly connect with the hiring manager or a decision maker, and then message them directly (and professionally) and let them know you’re interested in the position and ask them who you should contact about it.If you want to get a job via LinkedIn, here is the exact strategy I used to do this:Make sure your profile is at the “All Star” level. This means uploading a Great picture, writing a compelling headline, and crafting a benefits-driven summary. In other words, instead of telling potential employers what you do, tell them how you can benefit them.Identify companies that you want to work for that have open positions. Use the LinkedIn jobs app to identify potential companies you’d like to work for and jobs that are available. I also used other job search sites. Indeed is a good one to source open positions.Find the hiring manager using LinkedIn search. If you can't find the hiring manager, find a decision maker like a VP, director, or a regional manager. I looked for a VP of sales or a regional manager during my job search. If it was a smaller company, I’d go directly to the owner or CEO.Invite that person to connect using a personal message like “Hi John, we have several mutual connections in the automotive industry. I’d like to add you to my LinkedIn network.”Once they connect with you, message them directly. Tell them you are interested in a position with their company and why you think you can be an asset. Ask them who you should contact so you don’t get lost in the resume shuffle. In my experience employers will applaud this assertiveness.Do this for every job you’re interested in. You will get multiple job interviews and stand out from almost every candidate.More info…I’m a technology sales professional and online instructor. I’ve taught over 31,020 students and business professionals how to grow their network and businesses using LinkedIn. You can check out my courses at Redline Academy. Did LinkedIn Placements help anyone land a job?

Thanks for the A2A.The answer is NO! LinkedIn is such a website for professional-social networking, where you can get plenty of connections for sure, but be ready for not getting any job. If you know some people to whom you have oiled a lot, you can approach them to beg for a job offer. Otherwise, it is literally useless to use LinkedIn if you are looking for jobs.

Has anyone ever got a job through LinkedIn?

Not just one job, but multiple offers sometimes within the same week. From side-gigs, to full-time offers , even consulting time, Linkedin has literally changed my employment prospects, as well as my self-confidence in my field. That didn’t happen overnight of course. It takes time to develop a sufficient network.Don’t listen to anyone that says you shouldn’t send requests to people you don’t know on Linkedin.Much like you wouldn’t go to a networking event only to talk to people you already know, the same goes for Linkedin.Above all, it’s a tool to help you build relationships, not find jobs.Add value and you shall receive value as well.Invest time in being active, posting content, sharing your perspective on key subjects in your niche and demonstrating thought-leadership.Most importantly, do all that in a CONSISTENT basis.Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away.I’m also going to tell you what to pay attention to when it comes to your Linkedin profile page.Every single section of your profile contributes to a great Linkedin presence. From your profile and background photo, to your experience description for every single position, recommendations, volunteering, endorsements etc. However, the most tiring and time-costly mistake I see on many profiles is this…Not understanding what the other person does immediately after landing on their profile.Take for example my personal Linkedin profile:Right after you get to it, it becomes pretty obvious what my area of expertise is within 5 seconds. That’s because of two main elements:My headline, which summarizes what value I bring to the table through niche-specific keywords. My summary, which starts with a simple Hi, and gets straight to the point. The summary is the part that most people get wrong actually.I have seen summaries starting with random quotes that confuse the viewer and get to the point of what the person does only halfway through a 300-word text.To recap, value the viewer’s time and make it clear what you do right from the first or second sentence in your summary, as well as include a catchy and keyword-specific headline.Best of luck!

Has Quora ever helped you find a new job?

No.But I have been contacted by several people to be asked for some professional information. In one occasion it led to an unfinished proposal for collaboration.Since Quora is a data dump for much of my academic knowledge; I have shown to an interview for an academic position in Central Europe, the fact that my OR answers place me among the most viewed writers in Quora, as proof that I know my subject well.I don't know the result of the interview yet.Nevertheless, I can't see why many Quora answers regarding a particular professional subject, is not a demonstration of professional expertise.

Help with Iceland job application?

Hi :)

I'm filling in an application form for a job at Iceland, Ive just left school and I only have some work experience in First Aid. And there are 3 questions which I'm stuck on...

1. A people person? Being friendly and genuine can go a long way when dealing with customers. Please give a brief example of a situation when your helpful approach has benefited either a customer or team member..........

2. Take pride in your work? Completing a task to the best of our ability is a sure sign that a person takes pride in the job. Please give us an example that demonstrates your pride in your work - no matter how big or small the task is.

3. Doing the right thing? Doing the very best for customer is the cornerstone of Iceland's success. This attitude is just as important when you're part of a busy store team dealing with day-to-day challenges. Briefly explain why you think your a good team player.

I really want to work and have filled in countless application forms so Im hoping that someone can give me some ideas about how to answer these questions.

Thanks in advance!:)

What is Linkedin; how does it work?

I have only two connections and cant get anymore( most people I know is on facebook or myspace which I not one) but I get get a job interview from there. Try only applying for jobs with the blue star icon and people who have recommendations. I also use Craigslist but be careful. To avoid spam always google the company name, telephone, fax. Try to avoid yahoo, gmail, live and other email account like these. Always research before giving you info to any job sites. I don't get spam.....just me taking the time to research a company and try to a website or phone number to call and verify their listing is real.
