Heating Problem In My Apartment

How is my apartment heated?

I moved into an apartment in September. Heat is included. There are thermostats on the walls in each room but no apparent heat source. The heat works - somehow. I turned the thermostat to 25 and the room definitely got warmer in a few hours but I have no sweet clue how... There are no baseboard heaters, no vents in the walls or ceiling, the floor doesn't have in-floor heating (carpet was removed when I moved in and wood flooring was laid). The walls don't seem to be hot or anything. I genuinely have no ideas... Anyone have insight?

No heat in apartment what can I do?

I've had heating issues in my apt for weeks now, the heat now isn't working at all. I called the leasing office, emailed them, put in work orders online and went to the leasing office several times for the past 2 weeks about my heat not shutting off now it completely stopped working and its really cold where I live and I have children. All the office does is tell me they are aware and someone will fix it and that never happens. I looked up laws in GA and it says you can not withhold rent because of the heat not working but it is mgmt job to insure heat. I'm confused on that because if they are not doing their job why do I have to pay them anything? I called corporate and still no word back, I'm thinking next step is the housing authority but that could take weeks before I get a resolution. I want out of my lease this place is super expensive and terrible. This is not my only issue in the unit. Any legal advice?

My apartment water heater isn't working. Will the landlord have to pay for a replacement or will I?

A couple of things here. First, James Smith’s answer is spot on; know the terms of your lease. Responsibilities are outlined in that contract. Second, it may be an electrical, gas or some other problem depending on how your water is heated, and have nothing to do with the water heater itself. Find out who is responsible for what in your lease. If it is on you, start investigating what the problem is—-start with the simplest possibilities first and move forward. If it’s on him/her, contact and document your communications.

I would like to know how many zd8000s have a heat problem and need help in finding a good notebook cooler?

My zd8000 has had a heat problem for the longest time, HP did improve this one over the zd7000 which only had two fans on it. There is one spot by the touchpad that has went over 110 degrees and I think that is a little too hot.. HP gives me lame answers to anything I ask about the heating.
I have looked for and not been able to find a good cooling pad. If any one knows of a great one, Please point me towards it....
HP did replace the zd7000 CTO with this one but........
Thanks Pam

Apartment heater won't turn off?

I had my heater set to 72 earlier. Normally, it'll turn off once it reaches this temperature, but today no matter what I tried, it wouldn't shut off. I tried switching the thermostat to the off setting, but the heater stayed on. I then tried setting it to the cool setting hoping that would work. No change, heater stayed on. I finally just turned the breaker off because the apartment got to 90 degrees. My dad came over and turned it back on to see if flipping it would help, but as soon as the power went back to it, the heater was blasting away.

What do I do? Last summer, in the same apartments, my parents had a similar issue with the air conditioner and ended up with a $500 dollar bill. Even though the problem was with the apartment unit itself, they still had to pay the bill, even after complaining to the office. I don't have that kind of money.

Just hoping I can find a fix so I don't spend the night freezing with no heater or sweating because it's way too hot!

Electric baseboard heater problem?

I have this baseboard heater in my apartment (see link below) it is a Haut F25408NWCA. It only runs for 8 minutes at a time, maybe only twice per hour. Exactly 8 minutes! No matter what temperature I set it to! Does anyone know what the issue could be?

It also makes weird noises every now and then....I attached 2 videos for you to take a listen.

Can I use a small electric oven to heat up my apartment temporarily?

So it's getting quite cold here in the Northeast and unfortunately, our furnace broke down on the very last moment. Back to the question, can I use a small electric oven to heat up my apartment temporarily?
