Help Does My Dog Need Medical Help Vet Or Is She Fine

Dog that got ran over is limping?? HELP!!!?

I obviously know a lot more than you. THIS DOG IS FINE. I love my dog. I'm not careless. We don't take our dogs to the vet. You wanna know why? Because it's wasting money like ****. You pay WAYYYYY more than what you need to. Call me all the goddamn names you want. I don't need you yuppies's advice. Dumb city slickers. If you were born in the country like me you would know. But you don't. Cuz you're a yuppy

I Need Help i just got a puppy and its sick ...shes a Rotwillier German Sheppard mix shes 8 weeks old ....?

I have been a veterinary technician for 16 years but am not the DVM so please do not use this information as replacement for the DVM. But here are my suggestions: Kennel cough could potentially be the cause. But there are other diseases like canine influenza, upper respiratory infection, pneumonia, tracheal infection, or in rare cases a fungal infection of the lungs. With the signs and symptoms you provided I would put my professional opinion on the common canine respiratory infection. However, since she is such a young puppy the potential for pneumonia and distemper are great. So keep an eye on the congestion in her chest. If you notice more rattling, gurgling, increased respiration or evidence of breathing difficulty take her to the DVM immediately! Be sure to finish the antibiotics & admin. just as prescribes. Use the eye ointment as instructed because eye complications can go from bad to worst quickly. When you shower take her in the bathroom with you, the steam will help to loosen the congestion & make breathing easier, even if temporarily. Sit her on you lap & gently but firmly "pat" her sides. Kinda like you might tap/pat on a child's back while he makes the "ahhhhh" noise to hear his voice wiggle with each compression you make to his back. This will help keep the congestion loose in the lungs. Allow her to have as much water to drink as she wants. Fluids always help. THe vitamins will also help to support her system with the requirements that she may not be consuming thru diet while ill. I never want to badmouth another practitioner but you may want to consider another DVM. Someone that is easy to talk with but also will explain the illness etc & what/why they are choosing the treatment options they are recommending. Good Luck & I am happy to help further if needed. By the way, cough syrup is ok if you have been given the type & dosage for such. My professional suggestion would be Robitussin CF & give 3-4cc per 10lbs of patient.(this is what I do for my patients but you should clear it with your dvm first)

Help! Dog Ate Glazed Doughnuts!?

Besides one hell of a sugar rush, I'd venture to say that she will be OK. But considering we don't know if your pet has any sort of medical conditions that would be agitated by the sugar or fat content, a quick phone call to your vet (that knows your dog's health history) wouldn't hurt anything.

Help.. My brothers dog ate a scented candle it is now 4 days later.....?

WHY WHY WHY do people come on here asking question likes this instead of taking their animal to the vet!!! If your bother cares for the animal at all take it to the VET!!!!!!!

There are oils that are used in scented candles that can cause problems for animals also if he ate the whole thing is could be blocking in the intestines!!! Please BE RESPONSIBLE TAKE THE DOG TO THE VET AND get off the comp!!!!!

How do I get my dog with a damaged spinal cord safely off my bed? He's rather large and jumped on my bed last night while I was asleep. Now he's cuddling next to me, but if he moves his head the wrong way or tries getting down he will be in bad pain.

I presume you have him off your bed by the time I am now seeing this post. Here is the important thing to know!! Nerves only have a very small window of ‘surviving’ after trauma. You MUST take your dog to an ORTHOPEDIC VET!! Not a regular vet. Even if you have been to your vet and they have provided an anti inflammatory medicine or told you your pup will be fine with rest, GO TO AN ORTHOPEDIC VET RIGHT AWAY while the nerves are perhaps still alive! Just google one in your area, call and go!My dog had a spinal injury and I first went to a traditional vet and was told to just provide her rest in her crate for several days and she would perhaps be fine. That didn’t sit well with me as I do have a lot of experience with medical related things as well as dogs. The next morning I took her to an orthopedic veterinarian and he said she needed surgery immediately because even at that point she only had a 50/50 chance of walking again. The surgery was performed immediately, because she was paralyzed from her waist down and dragging her legs behind her.Thankfully, the surgery went well, but her recovery still was yet to be determined because her recovery would require a lot of attention. I worked every 2 to 3 hours on her legs, hips, and joints to keep her limber and to build muscle strength in her legs and hips. I also took her to the vet for Hydro therapy which can be a big help too. It took almost 3 months, but she made a full recovery. Had I listened to the first veterinarian and just let her rest for several days, she would never have walked again because the nerves would’ve died and not been able to be regenerated. Please, take the situation seriously and take your pup to an ORTHOPEDIC VET NOW. Best of luck to you and your pup.

How can you help a dog that has been throwing up for two days?

Your best bet is to take him to the veterinarian. Prolonged vomiting will result in dehydration and electrolyte abnormalities, both of which will make him feel worse as well as worsen his prognosis for treatment and recovery. It may well be that he just got into something that didn't agree with him, but wouldn't you rather have good news now than bad news when it's too late?

I gave my dog nyquil? Please help?

1 (800) 548-2423 call them immediatly, they are Animal Poison Control. Tell them exactly what you gave her and how much, how long ago and how she is acting right now. They will direct you on what to do next and give you the location of a local emergency vet to get her to.
Never try to self treat a potential poisoning, many things are actually made worse by milk, water and forced vomiting.
Never give human medication to an animal without first consulting a vetrinarian.
Good Luck

What could have caused my dog to break out in hives?

I have a 8 month old american bulldog and he came in last night with hives so I gave him benadryl and this morning he was fine, then I put him outside again as usual and when I let him back in at 9 (I let him out around 7) he was covered in hives, worse than last night by far so I gave him bendaryl again and put him in his kennel. I have no idea what's going on, he has also been caughing and has a runny nose. This has been going on for weeks now. I have a rott mix and she is just fine. The caughing sounds like a trachia collapsing, I used to have a shih tzu and it sounds like the same thing. I'm a college student and I have to save up for a few weeks before I can get him into the vet so any advice would be a huge help. Oh yeah, I haven't changed his diet at all, so I'm sure it isn't a food allergy.
