Help Me Figure Out What Medical Condition I Have I Have Constant Abdominal Pain.

Upper abdominal pain- Dyspepsia?

I am about to go insane here and was wondering if anyone could relate to my story/symptoms.

For the past 6 months or so, I have had this pain/pressure right under my sternum. It literally feels like this area and my stomach are sticking out as far as they possibly can, as if someone is literally inside with their hands pushing outwards. The pain also extends to my back around the same area.

When I eat, it gets 10 times worse. I've gotten to the point where I can hardly eat anything. I feel full after 2 bites of food. Even after drinking a glass of water, I feel like I've had a 10 course meal and my stomach becomes so swollen, sometimes literally doubling in size.

I've been to several Gastroenterologists, had an Endoscopy done, which revealed a small hiatal hernia. Doc says what I am feeling has nothing to do with that, since I don't have the usual symptoms of gerd, acid relfux, etc...that most people have with hernias. So now I'm being treated for Dyspepsia. None of the medication is working, at all.

I am so incredibly frustrated, as it is taking over my life. I am in constant pain. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Thanks for any info.

Abdominal pain. Can't stand up straight. Constant urination.?

My son had pains and I thought he had the flu. He was not able to stand up straight. After 5 days he started feeling a wee bit better but he was still sick and I took him to the doctor. After a quick test the doctor said "Looks like we have an appy here. Get him to the emergency room." His appendix had just burst. (That is why he started feeling better.) They cleaned him out and he was fine. He was only 9 years old.

I had stab-like pains on one side and I went to the emergency room for them. The doctor told me to jump up and down. I did and he said it wasn't my appendix because I would have fainted from the pain! (jerk!) It turns out that I had a painful ovulation which they called mittelschmerz. It was explained to me as pain from the egg leaving the ovary without the normal hormones that make it less painful. I had the pain for 3-5 days.

If you plan to use the 'jump up and down test' to see if it might be your appendix, don't do this when you are alone! What if you pass out from the pain? Tell the other person what you are going to do first.

With both cases there was no constant need to urinate. If it has been that long I'd suggest the emergency room. Feel better hon!

How is chronic pancreatitis diagnosed please read details?

A previous question of mine regarding abdominal pain resulted in a suggestion that the pancreas could be involved, thanks to Suzan K. I did some research and there was a medicine I took a while ago that has been linked to pancreas problems. What kind of doctor should I see? Would I go to an internist? How can they determine what's going on with my pancreas? Just for the sake of info, my digestive system has been examined from every possible direction, more than once, and my gall bladder was removed a couple of years ago. I'm still having the same pain and it's seriously interfering with my life. Advice? Suggestions?

Did anyone ever find out what the cause of Kurt Cobain's stomach problems were?

I've recently started reading Journals by Kurt Cobain, and I've noticed that he complains a lot of stomach pain and that sometimes he signs letters 'Kurdt Cobain' or even 'Kurdt Kobain'. Is there a reason for this?

Why are ER doctors now using Toradol Injection instead of Dilaudid for pain?

I have chronic abdominal pains and chronic migraine headaches, and the meds i'm on (Treximet, Imitex, Vicodin) none of those help, so I go to the ER, they inject me with Dilaudid and Zofran for the Nausia, this was early on before they knew of my chronic condition, but as I started going back over and over again, they started getting suspicious so they started using Toradol for pain. I told the ER doctor, hey this stuff does not work, i'm in excruciating pain and these ER visits are costly even with copays they add up, they don't care they see my record and stop using dilaudid after a while. So I started going to other hospitals in the area, there are about 9-10 hospitals in a 20 mile radious from my house and I went to all of them with in the last year and after a few visits in each one they all started contacting each other to find out why my home address is far from the hospital i'm at. i ended up getting an earfull from the ER doctor at one of the doctors about 25 miles out, BEFORE they even treat me for my condition, which I'm probably gonna have to pay for anyways to be seen.... and now if I even get seen, all they use is Toradol for the pain and that stuff doesnt even work. I ran out of Vicodin, and all the doctors and hospitals know me and will not refill my vicodin prescription, so I'm screwed., Any advise?
