Home Alone! please help Im scared?

I'm fourteen and im home alone, I've been home alone before a lot actually. Im just really scared tonight its 3 A.m and my mom is at work and gets off 7 in the morning. Im just really scared. My dad i don't know where he went but he doesn't care obviously. I have school i should be sleep but i took a nap when i got home from school. So im wide awake scared, i ate leftover chinese food i didn't finish eating and so i have a fork with me in my room if that makes a difference if someone bust in. My doors are locked i made sure. My dogs downstairs although it wouldn't make a difference either because he is a little shi-tzu. And i have my T.V on watching lifetime and they are talking about stories of people who were abducted and i keep hearing noises and im so scared im going to cry i want my mom i dont care I just dont like being here alone at night.

IM HOME ALONE AND SCARED!??

I can totally sympathize but I confess I'm laughing a little. For one thing, Creepypasta is not what you want to be reading late at night or when you know you'll be home alone at night. But for another, it's OK to be scared - most people get a little wigged out staying home alone at some point. Even if we don't read scary stories.

Lock any exterior doors and windows, leave a a couple of lights on downstairs, even leave the TV or music on. It'll help keep you from jumping at every shadow and tiny noise, and on a practical note, it'll deter any would-be burglars. (Sorry.)

And for crying out loud. Save the creepy stories for camping with friends. :D If it makes you feel any better, revel in the fact that creepy stories, ghost stories, etc., have literally been around for thousands of years for the simple fact that people like getting the pants scared off them. We're all idiots and we all survive somehow.

Best wishes.

I'm home alone and scared? help?

Turn on all the lights. Message some friends on Facebook or text them. Get some ear phones listen to some awesome music: This is a good song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I55a8FdzHYA or watch some other videos on Youtube to get your mind off everything. I suggest this Youtuber: sXePhil
he talks about anything and everything that is interesting in the news. Believe me it's not boring.

What would you do if you were scared and alone at home?

There is a list of things i will check off in my head when i am home aloneHere goesThe lights, ALL the lights, turn them onWarm, that’s what it needs to beMUSIC, silence is terrifying, i strongly recommend “Kind Of Blue” from Miles Davis, make sure you have a nice soundsystem, listening on headphones or earpods is usually fine until you take them off and you hear the silenceComfort, it’s wat you need, get your most comfy chair, sofa, couch or carpet and feel it, sit on it. BE itFood, not necessarily for nutrition, more for comfort, get something crunchy but filled with air, like Walker’s Crisps, (Lays Chips) something that makes you tired after eating, like wraps with beans, avocado’s corn olives, that kinda stuffCook, if you like to, if you dont, dont, if it stresses you out, dontBob Ross, now that you have food and all the lights on and Kind Of Blue playing in the background, it’s time to grab another device with a decent little speaker and go to youtube, Bob Ross is your friend, his voice soothes your anxiety’s and melts them down while he talks about browns and greens, letting the painting paint itself and his happy little tree’s, the way Bob talks tricks your brain into thinking you’re in some kind of social engagement, Bob keeps dropping words like “we”, “you” and “us” engaging you into the conversation while not begging for your attention, have it on the side where you’re sitting so you can look over once in a while to see what he is doing nowSomething to do with you’r hands, preferably no phones or other gaming material(except Quora of course) do something creative with you’re hands, go and knit, or draw stickman’s on paper, write a rap, use the lego that you’ve neglected for all those years, play with some putty, iron the clothes that came out of the dryer, anything with hands, (if you’re still very scared, have a potato peeler knife next to you, it doesn’t look harmful, but that’s just because everyone associate’s peeling potato’s with it, they do some serious damage if you intend them to)If you have one, a fire in the fireplace is amazing to light and have crackling next to youAt the moment i am enjoying all of these things, Bob is painting a rustic barn, i am sitting in my nicest chair all the lights are on, a warm glow is coming from the fireplace, Miles is bringing that subtle swing to it all in the background, nothing scary can really happen when you have smooth jazz in the background, it’ll just look funky, and i am home aloneSee ya!

I'm scared to stay home-alone?

haha, i'm 24 with two kids and still here noises in the walls or my head and get super scared at night! Do some research on ways to cope and find your own way to calm yourself. Mine is music and night lights (tv or games keep me awake) and i surround my body with my pillows. HAHA...yeah, i just opened up big time ....but hey, you're not alone and not abnormal, especially when the house ur in you're used to people being there with you.

Home alone on halloween and scared?!?!?

OMG I am the exact same way. Power through it though. If you have to go to the bathroom, just do it and don't be scared to go in to rooms. Call someone on the phone and ask them to stay on the phone and chat with you. I promise that you'll be good, their isn't anything in your house! Watch iCarly or something. Turn on your alarm if you have one. Keep a cell phone by your side if it makes you feel better. You can call 911 in an instant if you had to, which you totally won't because your all good. Halloween is no different than any other nights!

Scared to sleep while home alone?

Hey buddy i had the same problem until i learned that your house contracts at night time because the heat is exiting thus you get creeking noises from oh say hardwoodflooring or the flooring under carpets and even walls just say to yourself everythings gonna be alright double check EVERYTHING is locked and keep something sharp next to your bed like a screw driver or something hard like a hammer and if you can't sleep game it up all night and just say to yourself everything's gonna be alright. Some ofther tips try listening to music seriously pretend your mom and brother is home noones in there check every room every little hiding spot make sure to yourself noones is in there and if you have security hooked up you should definetly have no worries and lastly have the phone near you. In most cases what's the probability of someone breaking into YOUR house at that night. Everything will be alright. Peace

I'm Home Alone and I'm Scared, Even Though There is No Reason to Be?

I'm 13 and am home alone, and I live in a very very safe town in a door with locked doors and windows, and I think I can hear footsteps upstairs. I know there's no one upstairs, because, with my heart pounding, and a phone set to dial 911 and a sharp knife in my hand (I was really scared) I went upstairs and looked everywhere where someone might be, but there was no one there. I know I'm being paranoid and there is no one else up there, and I need some tips on how to calm myself down. I wonder if I was having like a Panic Attack or something. When I'm home alone I have (non diagnosed, and I have no idea whether or not their real panic attacks) panic attacks sometimes when I get really scared, probably for no reason. Any Advice?

How do I deal with anxiety when I'm home alone?

Do things you love to improve your mood. If you don’t know what you love doing, find a hobby. Think positive thoughts most of all to get your mind off your partner leaving. Take precautions such as immediately doing something when he leaves or talking to a friend on the phone to reassure yourself. Have confidence. Your partner leaving you is something you have to get used to. And if you feel like crying, then cry. Scientists have found that tears contain a stress hormone called cortisol, which is released and crying can make you feel better. Comfort yourself so that you don’t feel uneasy. If you have trouble sleeping, think of one thing you are grateful for or a positive thought about yourself. Try breathing exercises to calm down. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, breathe out for 5, hold, then breathe in again. Repeat this until you feel comfortable.
