I'm out of uv gel nail cleanser, what else can i use?
i do my own gel nails at home and have just discovered, after applying my builder gel!!! i am all out of my cleanser (99% alcohol). what else can i use? nail polish remover? i dont have any liquor at home so that is not an option. please respond asap so i can rid myself of this tackiness

When I was at college we did acrylics and gels and we did use uv lights but we also didn't use uv light once it took ages but I wasn't very good at college n didn't pay much attention n can't remember much lol.. Do Gel nails NEED a UV light to cure?
With traditional UV gels, you do need a UV lamp. There are no light gels available but the quality of the gels themselves is very poor. I would be careful about messing around with UV gels if you aren't properly trained and licensed. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but be aware that once the gels have cured, the only way to remove them is to file them off. They are not soak off products like acrylics are. You can ruin your natural nails very easily if you don't know what you are doing. Then, there is the risk of overexposure which can cause contact dermatitis over time, but that's another topic in itself. My personal opinion? Let a licensed professional do your nails. It is not as easy to do as it looks.
How do I remove UV gel nail polish?
Take a nail file and buff the top layer of nail polish, try to avoid hitting your skin. This will remove the protection layer of the nail polish. Then take tin foil and a cotton ball, soak the cotton ball in acetone or nail polish remover, acetone works much better and faster.Put the soaked cotton ball on your fingers and then wrap it in tin foil so the cotton doesn't fall off and also to keep the acetone in and from dripping on things.I like to put some oil or lotion on my nails before doing that so my skin doesn't get too dried out. Leave it on for about ten minutes and check, it should be melted, then just take another cotton ball with acetone and keep up the nails removing any left over peicesIf it's not melted, put it back on for maybe 5 minutes
Are Gel and LCN nails the exact same thing?
LCN UV gels are not completely identical to traditional UV nail gels. They are somewhat different in their chemical composition. It's way too technical for the scope of this question, so let's just say that they are the same, but different (slightly!). They WILL cost you more since they are imported from Germany and the company is well known for their UV gel products.They also cost more for the tech to buy, so that cost is passed onto the consumer - which is a standard business practice, nothing surprising about that. In short, be ready to pay, in the least, about $65 for a full set of LVN nails. That is THE lowest cost I have ever seen for REAL LCN nails. That cost can easily exceed $100 depending on where you live. A fill is a minimum of $35, and it increases accordingly to location. I emphasized the word "Real" because there are a LOT of discount salons that will try to rip you off by advertising LCN nails, then giving you a cheap imitation. A coouple of ways to minimize the risk of this happening to you is: 1) Make absolutely certain that ALL the containers of gels and related products the tech uses are clearly labeled by LCN, and not handwritten onto the containers. Also beware of unmarked containers of gels. LCN NEVER uses this kind of container. They are always clearly labeled by LCN.
