Help On Social Isolation.

What Are The Effects Of Social Isolation?

I know someone who was home schooled and they stayed at home for 10 years without really ever going out with others. I think this person doesn't understand that this world is jaded and not all people can be trusted. This person was sheltered and is now anti social. They had a crazy porn addiction that normal guys probably can't top. People like that are lost and need to find their way by experiencing whats really out there. Not just working and going back home. They need to unravel the damage caused by all those years of isolation.

Why does social isolation cause depression?

This is a simple answer to your question, and I'm sure a professional could give you a more intellectual answer. But I'm about basic human experience. So for your consideration I offer the following:If you have a cell phone, you know that when your battery gets low it needs to be charged. So you connect your phone to a wire and plug it in an electrical socket!Human beings are no different. When our energy gets low we need to get charged up. Being around other human beings engaged in fun, creative, inspiring, uplifting and intriguing activities increases our energy.I've been battling a little congestion for the past two weeks. because I've been substitute teaching for an elementary school. Along with all the love, you get coughed on, sneezed at and exposed to a plethora of germs from snotty books and papers!I just wanted to curl up in a ball under a blanket and blow my nose until I passed out! But every time I dragged myself out of bed and did something constructive by helping someone or going to lunch or attending my writing group, or just taking a walk, I felt better! We humans are a living energetic field! And we are social creatures by nature! We need to Go get charged up! Otherwise, we lose energy and become depressed. That's my experience and observation. From a metaphysical point of view, we could talk about auras etc., but that wasn't your question!Francesca Simon is co-host of "Charting Your Course" on Revolution Radio in Studio B on Sunday night 10 pm to MidnightRevolution Radio at Revolution Radio at Freedomslips.com

Help writing a thesis statement about isolation!??!?

it is a very general thesis statement. A thesis statement is supposed to be very specific. Mention the characters or introduce isolation as a motif in the book. If this is a literary essay, the thesis needs to be altered. I read to kill a mockingbird a while ago so I can't help you arrange your thesis but I can tell you to use the title of the book in your thesis or at least in your introduction. Go from general to specific. Also your thesis can use a little repair because better words can be used along with better sentence structure. Don't use the word people - that's too general. Who isolates themselves? We're not talking about the entire world here. Specify it - Atticus? Boo? Men? Women? Lawyers? Instead of the thesis you have, here is a better way of presenting it:

" ____________isolate(s) themself(lves) from others because they fear the reactions they will evoke from others"

Even that could be better. But it's a start. You can start off with "Isolation is a prevelant theme..." OR "Isolation is a common theme experienced by certain characters in "To Kill a Mockingbird" because they fear the reactions they will evoke from others"

Hope all this helps!

“I’m antisocial, they say. I don’t mix. It’s so strange. I’m very social indeed. It all depends on what you mean by social, doesn’t it? Social to me means talking to you about things like this.” — Clarisse McClellan

“We have everything we need to be happy, but we aren’t happy. Something’s missing. I looked around. The only think I positively knew was gone was the books I’d burned in ten or twelve years. So I thought books might help.” — Montag

You lose control over tech, it will take over your life. But the digital revolution comes with drawbacks. A 2010 Kaiser Family Foundation study found a correlation between media consumption and poor academic performance. The study found that 21% of young people between the ages of eight and 18 consume at least 16 hours of media per day, while 17% consume less than three hours per day. 47% of the heavy users reported typically earning grades of C or below in school, compared to just 23% of the light users.
