Help With Interesting Thing To Happen In The Middle Of Book

What interesting thing did you read today?

Today I read this WhatsApp text & couldn’t stop myself from sharing it.Note:A = Indian Man,B = Japanese Man.Once A visits Japan & entered a train. The train was almost empty. The coach in which he got into had 3–4 passengers. So, he directly went to sit on the first seat he saw. After a few moments, a middle aged Japanese man (B) sat next to him, leaving a seat between them. After 2–3 mins, A saw that B was busily fidgeting with the seat with some object. He found it unusual, so he decided not to bother him and started looking somewhere else. But even after 10 mins B was doing the same. Now this time A looked closely, and he noticed that B had a needle in his hand and he was stitching the torn seat beneath him. A was surprised and he asked B in Japanese, the conversation went as below:A: Forgive me, but I want to ask you something.B: Yes, feel free to ask.A: Do you work for the railways? You are stitching the seat so…B: No, not at all. I am a nursery teacher. I travel by this train daily. I see this torn seat every time I travel so I decided to stitch this seat. Does it look good now? (laughingly)A: It’s good. But still why are you stitching it?B: Because it was looking bad. Suppose, foreigners who visit our country saw this torn seat, it would have spoiled our country’s reputation. I would never want that to happen, after all this is our property and responsibility as well. If we wouldn’t care for it, then who will?Train stopped and B left saying goodbye.A sat there stunned. He felt like saluting that Japanese man for this deeds. He had just witnessed the patriotism.Random incident: After losing a football match, the Japanese audience stayed there and cleaned up the whole stadium, carried all the waste in plastic bags, put that bags carefully in the garbage area and left.Country progresses because of these kind of people. Only shouting of slogans won’t help in any way.Thank You. Have a good day.Hope every viewer inculcates something good from this. Also its good to read positive comments which show that we Indians are ready to make change.Thank you Quorans for upvoting like crazy.

How interesting is book reading?

Find the type of books you enjoy. If you don't like reading, it just means you have not yet found the kind of books you like. Two of the basic types of books are fiction and non-fiction. Fiction can mean novels or collections of short stories. It might be written for children, young adults , or adults. The book may be short and read quickly like Wren by Alice Longaker or long like Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. It can be written in any language or perhaps a translation. The book might be a new bestseller or something written long ago. Fiction can be about historical periods or people or fantasy and science fiction with fantastic creatures and other planets. Location or setting may make something of interest too… perhaps a different state or region. The key is to find something that entertains or inspires you in some way.The second general category of books is non-fiction, and again you have many choices. Perhaps it is a book of poetry or essays. Maybe it is a “how-to” book that teaches a new skill like building a house. Cookbooks are often favorites. Biographies tell life stories of historical figures, Olympic athletes, unsung heroes, and people famous and humble. The books can be about nature, computers, or machinery. Many books have photographs or illustrations to help readers understand content. Or they are divided into shorter sections and chapters to help content stay organized. If you keep trying different kinds of books, you will find many that are interesting to you.

Can you suggest an interesting chess book for an amateur?

Modern Chess Strategy by Luděk Pachman would be my choice, if you're only looking for one. He gives a great run-down of positional assessment. If I could recommend a [math]2nd[/math] book, it would probably be Chess by László Polgár. That book will improve anybody's game. It's really just a bunch of exercises, but it's wonderfully organized. Reading through that one straight through will definitely help you break through to the next plateau. If I could recommend a [math]3rd[/math] book, it might have to be My Best Games of Chess by Alexander Alekhine. It's exquisite. Many, many, many of Alekhine's most incredible games, annotated in the most beautiful way anyone could ever hope to see.If I could recommend a [math]4th[/math] book, I'd definitely want to recommend 500 Master Games of Chess, just because it's got everything. Openings, endings, all the different players, amazing annotations. The only reason it's not higher on the list is because the openings are out of date by now, and the game analysis is a little on the intermediate side. But it makes up for those things with a tremendous breadth of scope. A really phenomenal book.If I could recommend a [math]5th[/math] book, I guess I'd just say Secrets of Pawn Endings. Even though it's not a general purpose book, pawn endings are the most insane aspect of chess I've ever encountered. And that book takes it all the way down the rabbit hole.I'd better stop there, since the question was really for just one book.

What is the funniest thing ever happend in everyone's school life?

Once we had an English solo song competition in our school. Since my school (Ramjas Public School, Anand Parvat, Delhi) was not a convent or Christian school but a normal public school which had more of desi folks, where we students normally didn't use to listen to English songs. So for that sake my English teacher planned for an english solo song competition as a part of internal assessment when I was in class 9.We were given 3 days to prepare a song of our choice. All of us downloaded and discussed what all songs we were about to sing in the class. While getting busy for preparations I forgot to tell one of my classmate who was absent on the day when the teacher announced for the competition. On the competition day we were revising and singing our songs in front of each other and trying to correct our mistakes in the morning time. The friend who was absent came on the competition day after recovering from illness. He was worried but though he was the naughtiest kid of the class he said I will manage don't worry. When we asked "how?" He responded you just wait and watch. Few of us sang the song. Some stuck while some did it easily. When my friend's turn came he took a pause and started singing "Brazil taa ra ra ra ra raa, taa ra ra ra ra raa brazil" (this was the most played song on weddings and dj at that time) The whole class laughed like mad. The english teacher's face was a mix of humor and anger at that time. She was confused with her feelings. She wanted to laugh and be angry at the same time. This song has only 1 word "brazil" and rest music so it was legally an English song. He got 2 on 10 but we classmates got a memory worth remembering.

Unique/creative book title for middle ages?!?

Medieval Times-The Dark Ages Uncovered.

What is the best book to help me implement Project Based Learning in Middle School social studies?

"Project Based Learning Handbook: A Guide to Standards-Focused Project Based Learning for Middle and High School Teachers"Thom Markham; Spiral-bound
This one has gotten some great reviews and I've ordered it. Based on the PBL site www.bie.org, and the Table of Contents, this book sounds like it will meet all my needs. The teacher will do a lot of front-end work, then simply act as a guide, teach some skills along the way and with well-written rubrics you will watch as the students really do some critical thinking about the topic and individually as well as in groups make products that meet your curriculum objectives.
