What do you say when you call a talent agency?
you DONT. these people only except a professional resume and professional headshots sent through the mail- they do not take calls or stop-ins; the instructions on how to submit are on every agency's website and they will be very annoyed if you just decided to ignore them or not look at them at all. so, do NOT call agencies or stop in without being asked (and they wont ask you unless youre lucky enough to stand out in a sea of talented and experienced actors trying to get signed- they absolutely hate that and its incredibly unprofessional. if you dont have a VERY impressive resume, with tons of experience on stage and in front of a camera, along with professional training, great headshots and a demo reel though, dont bother trying for an agent now- they only sign actors who have shown they can work and be paid for their talents. most young people think that all they have to do is schedule a meeting with an agency and theyll meet with you and watch you read a monologue and sign you if youre talented- thats not true at all. they wont meet with you or even speak to you if you call (and if they do, it will be only to tell you to read the guidelines on the website and hang up on you)and will only call YOU to meet if you have a very impressive resume; most people get rejected- thousands submit to every agency and maybe 3 or 4 are chosen out of those thousands. if you dont have years of experience (and i mean professional, not school plays and community theater only), you arent ready for an agent. but if you are, or if you ever are, NEVER call an agency unless they ask you to- its a well-known no-no in the business

Fair warning though, don't join the bail recovery industry for the money (it seems you wish to do it as a love for the work, but just warning you). There isn't much steady income in the field seeing as the payoffs do not happen until the fugitives are apprehended. Of course there will be special licensing classes you need to take, and criminal justice is a good broad field of study (so you can familiarize yourself with the American justice system). Also, it is good to have research skills if you are going to be in this industry. Most all of the questions you are asking can be answered in basic Google searches. If you can't find these answers yourself, you might want to forget about working in this field. That being said, try using those basic Google skills and do searches such as "Bail recovery agents Oklahoma" or something along those lines.
